to be serious though there is equivelant quality elsewhere. I wouldn't pay more than £18m for him and even that would be well over the odds to be honest.

At the end of the day , if anything does happen , we won't hear about it any time soon , as I can't see Moyes wanting our other rumours prices jumping after the press tell them we have a few quid .
If it does happen , I expect it to be agreed in private and revealed nearer the end of the window . Neither manager are naive .
Hughes has said he wants all/most of his new players in before the preseason matches, so if we do go for Lescott, the deal would most likely be done this week or next week.
Just like you rate your players very highly i guess, Everton do to. You won't find many Everton fans who are willing to sell Lescott for less than £20 million....And the fact that he is key to our defence only drives up the price, as we have a very small squad as it is!
But people saying he is over-rated he really isnt. He rarely makes a mistake, and if you were to sign him you should be running down the road naked shouting "YEEEEESSSSSSS"
But he is worth £18 million or whatever is quoted, he isnt like Terry or defenders of that sort who just dives into tackles, he's smart, great in defence - rarely gets beaten - and he scored 10 goals last season which was great!
