Cant say I agree with this bit... He is still owned by City isnt he? Or did I miss him joining you on a perminant deal? No player who is still contracted would slagg their own team off as they are the key to any future deal there may be in his ability to move to another club. Such as you blue bin dippers! Ok some players who are trying to leave and have a bid on the table for them may say some dodgy things about the club but Jo is on loan only at present.

Lescott pulls Jo to oneside and ask "Jo i'm thinking about this City move, what was it like there"? You dont think he'd say "I hated it man, i'm so much happier here" or words to that effect? He practically said that in the press towards the end of his loan last season, he pretty muched begged moyes to keep him at goodison

What a complete load of cock. Presumably in your fairytale Lescott's reply would be: "Oh, I was going to treble my wages and take up the most exciting opportunity that will ever come my way, but if you didn't get on with Mark Hughes because you're a work-shy wuss then I'm probably best staying here."

I would guess that Lescott's more pertinent conversations would be with Gareth Barry, Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips. Oh, and his agent. Not to mention Garry Cook and Brian Marwood. And Khaldoon. And Sheik Mansour.

Don't worry. Do you really think Lescott will base maybe the biggest decision of his footballing career, on the opinion of one person who he barely knows? Our Evertonian friends have made some good points, but this was one of silliest ideas I've seen on here for a while.
even sillier than petrov playing left back??

That's why I said 'one of' the silliest ideas I'd heard!

[would you want a player just coming to you for money though? Do you think any of the players you've signed have come for the money? I woulnd't ever want that for my team.
Yep, you're right. I remember hearing that Louis Saha has always been a proud Evertonian and had pictures of Gary Lineker and Peter Reid up on his bedroom wall in France during the 80s. As such, it was a dream come true for him when he finally got to pull on the famous royal blue.

That's one theory, anyway.

The other is that Everton offered him more money than was on the table from anyone else at the time he signed.

Wake up. Footballers have been joining teams just for the money for years. It might be on a much smaller scale than the money City are currently willing to spend, but the principle is exactly the same.

He's just as likely to pick up his mobile phone and call his England teammates Gareth Barry, Wayne Bridge, Micah Richards, and SWP, and ask them what they think. I'd imagine they'll all have pretty positive things to say to him.

This, Andy talks as if the only player Lescott has any connection to regarding City is Jo. Perhaps Lescott would realise City are buying the likes of Gareth Barry, Adebayor, Tevez while Everton are snapping up deals for City rejects like Jo who wouldn't even get a sniff on our Bench. [On Loan as well we should add, because they can't afford to buy him outright]

Thats the painful truth for Everton now. They are a good side, but City are going places.

i dont know if anyone saw it before so:

my (sort of) source (a mate that knows someone at city) texted me this morning and said that city were preparing another move for lescott, closer to the fee that they want for him.

he said that they are likley to accept as it is not that far from what they want, he also said that lescott seems keen to come to city, but he will only hand in a transfer request as a last resort incase the move falls through for some reason, like if everton are being to naggy with the fee and he stays, the transfer request could damage his reputation with the fans.

i trust this guy and im going out at 12ish so if youre going to ask stuff then do it now as i wont be back untill tonight. (but in all honesty i dont really know that much more than what ive already said.

ps. i know that this is a bit obvious like my only other itkish post, but the guy my mate gets info of apparently said that he has to be a bit vauge to protect his reputation, he never says a move is 100% done untill it IS 100% done, and this one isnt.

tbf mate saha is an awful example, he offered to give up all his wages at everton until he was match fit! he is 1 of the few who doesn't seem to money orientated, your points are valid tho

No matter how plausible you want to make it seem, it's highly doubtful that Lescott would base his career advice or any decision on a player who speaks little english, has not been in the prem for more than five minutes, and despite a large price tag has been shipped out to learn because he wasn't good enough.

I doubt that Jo has gone to learn either, it's just an exercise in avoiding the humiliation of having to sell him for eff all.
