That comes from an Everton source IMO...what do you expect them to do, say 'you're welcome to him, and have Arteta, Cahill and Rodwell while you're at it'?

His injury is a huge blow , but hopefully he can over come it and regain the momentum .
I rate Evertons defence as potentially better than Uniteds also ( again my opinion ) . Teams don't often get at United , which gives their defence an easy ride most of the time , where as Evertons defence actually have to defend .

Maybe I am just a City fan but the only teams who I have seen really get at United, attacking with conviction and numbers are Liverpool and Barca. United lost all 3 of those games, their defence is very out of practice and I think they struggle to move up a gear due to so many games where they need to do 4 things all game each.

Sounds like brinkmanship to me. Saying that they don't want to sell him, but if Lescott forves the issue, he can go. Also appeases the fans if Lescott is made to come out and state he wants to leave.

I hope so mate~

Re: official move for Lescott today...

It was to be expected, but the benefit of selling him to us now outweigh trying to hang onto him through out the summer. Moyes will need maximum time to replace.

And the sooner they sell, the sooner he's off the wage bill. No sense paying him for a month or two over the summer only to then sell him.
