Lescott [Merged]

My guess would be that City and Lescott had lots of people working on this deal and the army of agents are haggling and discussing who gets what from who - and that will be what is holding everything up. We are probably talking millions.

I like the way we all seem to think that we can just screw Everton over by delaying the deal, this is not the case, if Everton wanted they could reject the agreed fee, and in doing so Lescott would have to go back to the club, city will in no way trying to slow the transfer down. I would be suprised if this isn't done by tomorrow as I'm sure Hughes would like Lescott to get a game under his belt before the Pompey game.

Spot on. We accepted a bid from Sunderland for Stevie Ireland, yet were still able to pull the plug on it at the last minute. Everton could (i'm not saying they would) do exactly the same to us if they thought we were taking the piss. Even after a bid has been accepted, the selling club can still stop a deal. So i agree, there's not a cat in hell's chance that this is anything to do with us getting one over Everton and Moyes. It will be a genuine hold up in some part of the negotiations. Should all get sorted out eventually though.

Finaly it is DONE

Manager Mark Hughes is now due to hold a press conference on Wednesday lunchtime.

I get the feeling we have done the same as the rags did with Berbaflop and insisted the tapping up allegation be dropped before we hand over our money

I like that, why not.

Altough i do not think we have done any thing wrong any way.
