He's contracted for another 3 years.....we dont have that many top class centre halves who are as good at leftback....im sure we are as ambitious as city obviously without the money so the price is irrelevant...if we dont want to sell then we dont have to even if Lescott spits his dummy....as i said if the price reaches £25mill then he can go with my blessing...lets face it ...you can afford

Thats nice, he's not worth £25m though so you can keep him and hope his own form doesn't suffer because he wants to play elsewhere.

£20m you could have bought another one or two defenders, maybe another player to pad out a pretty small squad. £0m you can make do with what you've got.

That might be your preference, and good luck to you if it is. I know if I was in your boat I'd be gutted at the missing out on a great opportunity to build and improve my squad.

And in 2 and a half years time, we might make a sneaky approach with a view to signing him for nothing when he is just reaching his prime.

Your right he isnt worth it but obviously Moyes thinks he is...and i trust Moyes's judgement more than yours..........im not gutted he is staying....dont think he is going to let his form suffer in a world cup year?? hard to believe but there are bigger things in life than Man City...i dont really have a problem with City but you have to admit there are a few on here that have become a tad arrogant....just hope you dont turn out as bad as the red side of mersyside.

top defenders ;)

i know a lot of you dont like Everton fans on here and admittedly ive only been coming on since this Lescott saga started...have to admit was fascinated with the Spursmad posts....but how many of you still trust his source?? I seem to remember over a month ago "Lescott is in the bag".....but why would it take so long if he is?
To be honest i think he enjoyed the hero worship he got for a couple of weeks!!!

Hi pal, just a quick one you think Lescott will get in the England squad? because over the last couple of weeks all the everton forums have said there is no chance because there are Wookcock, Upson, Rio and Terry ahead of him some even mentioned King as better than Lescott

Theres no chance we would pay that much for someone who's actually worth about 12mil. We got Barry for 12mil and hes better in his position than JL is in his. Barcalona and Eto'o tried to hold us to ransom and it got them nowhere. Hughes has always said he will walk away from any deal he thinks is a no go. And so far he has stuck by that.

It's also irrelevant that Everton are as ambitious as us. I mean no disrespect but they simply don't have what it takes to make a sutained push for the top spots season after season. We do. I'm sure that was a big draw for Lescott. Every bit as much as the money. There is much more excitement here at Eastlands than there is at pretty much any other prem league club right now.

You're right, there are many City fans on here who have become very arrogant in regards to our financial situation, quite disheartening seeing some act like United fans, that being said, there have also been many Everton fans who have joined here who are disillusioned with their situation too (while there have also been some good member additions who are Everton fans).
