It's some effort getting voted player of the month twice a good 18 months after your last good match.

I would suggest the myth is he did anything for us really over the 2 seasons he was at the club.

Unless you are going to pander to him, build a side round him and play him every match regardless of form maybe. Ireland is a much better player in this league so that was never going to happen at city.

THe simple fact is there was one spot on the bench available so either Elano or Petrov had to be sold othere wise you have a quality international player in the reserves every week = never going to happen.

Despite being injured for the whole of last season Petrov is a much more useful and dangerous player for us as we have seen in pre season. So very easy choice for Hughes to make. I fully support him on this one.

We should have walked away from this 2 weeks ago and brought in a plyer that would significantly improve what we have whilst allowing some time for the defence to gel.
