Ok, two points, firstly we HAVEN'T missed out on Lescott, not at this point anyway.

Secondly, don't you think it kind of sums up the direction both our clubs are heading in, and which has the better potential, that we've tried and failed to sign Kaka, Eto'o and Terry whereas Everton have tried, and failed, to sign Kyle Naughton?

You have missed out on Lescott you bufoon! You'd need to be on crack to believe Moyes would sell him now.

Like selling the best prospect you ever had on the last day of transfer window?

Everton have turned down a transfer request from Joleon Lescott, who is being targeted by Manchester City.
The Goodison Park outfit have knocked back bids of £15m and £18m from Manchester City for the centre-back.
"I have always said that we are not selling any players and that has not changed," Toffees boss David Moyes told the club's website.
Lescott, 26, is currently on international duty with England ahead of a friendly against the Netherlands.

Everton have released this information. Its official and Everton have put it in the public domain. Lescott has put in a written transfer request and Everton have rejected it.
Lescott will be a City player very soon.
I don't think he will be to be honest. I just can't see them ever accepting a bid. I think they'll be really stubborn over this, considering everything that they have said to this point.

.. Mark Hughes can't hold a candle to him .. he's just not good enough

Why would he want to ?, unlike your lot in your falling down tip, we are not living in the past, we have electricity, and we can afford to pay our electric bill,

and still have enough left over to buy a few players..................................
and that may still include Lescott, just think how many candles you can buy then!

Only one way this will end, even if its in 5 months time. Players that hand in transfer requests never stay long. Either their heads have turned or they just dont want to be at their club any longer. Barry and Alonso spring to mind. Moyes is still in a position of strength as he knows Lescott has to perform to get into the world cup squad. Coincidence that he has handed it in while on international duty? I expect he has already consulted with Capello and a certain few City players. Who wouldnt encourage him to come here and work with a much higher calibre of players?

At least Joleon has made it clear he wants to play here and not at Woodison Park.

Bringbackswales will be delighted he has finally got to the end of his written request and the postman has popped it through gollems letterbox this morning.
