we should offer max £20 mill and if they dont take it walk away. If the player wants to go and we offer a fair price we should get him. Even moyes won't be that stupid if he thinks we are serious

I understand what you are saying but am I the only one that no longer sees the likes of Everton as direct competition? For me our competition is now the top 4!

Getting through to the knockout stages of the champions league gets in £20million in revenue.
Therefore Lescott for £26million (negotiated price) would be a good deal if it gets us in top 4.
without the £26million spend we don't get in top 4 (in my eyes)
