For those saying a good deal for Everton is Dunne and 15m, or 15m and Jo on loan, you clearly have no idea about football or are just being disrespectful to Everton and Moyes.

Dunne is a bit of a cart horse and not good enough for Everton.

Pot. Kettle. Black. Or is respect a one-way street?

I happen to agree with you that anyone thinking Moyes will go for a deal at £15 million plus anyone on loan is mad - Moyes has no history of being bullied into transfers he doesn't want. There is another factor though, which is how Lescott sees the relative positions of the two clubs over the next four years, when he'll be in his prime. Everton will be there or there abouts next season, no doubt, but they're constantly doing it on a very thin budget and Moyes is clearly going to be in demand as a result of it. Everton won't be able to cut it spending-wise with The Rags, Us, Chelsea, Spurs or Villa so they're more at risk in terms of the vagaries of the transfer market than we are - that's a double edged sword, Lescott might not want to move to a club if he thinks that he'll be replaced by the next standard up in two years time.

I suspect Lescott will need to come out and say he wants a move. If he does, a deal I think will happen - £15 million plus Jo might be enough.

All good points, and we agree on most things I see.

One thing though, once Kirkby Stadium has been officially written off which it will be, there is a deal alledgedly in place to buy the club, which has been put about for about for 3 months now by ITK people on Everton boards.
Everton will not be in that position for ever, and Moyes hands will not be tied forever! In 2 years time Everton could be a completely different story ;)

Fair enough - the Kirkby thing does seem to be a bit of a weight around your neck - presumably, take-over or not, you'll still need to look at either a major facelift at Goodison or a new stadium, either on the Goodison site or somewhere else, that'll still cost, though I do acknowledge that once it's done and paid for, it'll kick you on in spending terms.

Well I had no intention of being disrespctful to your club or manager so by your own statement I must "Clearly know nothing about football". Seeing as you are clearly the oracle on these matters can you explain to me why £15m-£16m + Dunne for Lescott would not be good business for Everton, who have restricted finances, should Lescott force this issue through ? bear in mind you also have Yobo and Jagielka, and to push on could do with strengthening other areas. If you got cash only for Lescott I could see it being £20m max, and as soon as you have that replacement defenders prices will go up, as selling clubs will know your budget.

Dunne is 30 soon , so it's not a long term fix , and he would have zilch resale value .
Moyes likes young players , and though we have a few oldies ourselves , we need to look at getting young blood into our positions long term .

It wouldn't make sense to take Dunne and less money , when we could get a loan signing , or buy outright a younger player .
I still think Lescott will stay unless a huge fee is agreed by far in favour of Everton .

hey darker shade of blue if lescott does leave everton who do u think moyes will get?

Not sure m8 .
I'm sure your guess would be as good as mine at this stage , as we are both looking at a full back situation .

Re: official move for Lescott today...

The amount of blue scouse on this forum is in no way an indication of fearing their precious Lescott is tempted to move to us.

I do feel sorry for you lot, in a way.

Lescott is quite clearly your everything. When he comes here he will be a part of the jigsaw but certainly nowhere near the list of important players.

Ok then BGIB - serious question - why did Moyes let your granny-shagger go to that pile of dung if he wanted to keep him?
And why is the Lescott scenario any different?
And why, while we're at it,do half of your fans want to ground-share with that load of arseholes at Anfield?

If you read what was said at the time, Rooneys head was completely turned by his agent Paul Stretford. His attitude even changed as was described by the court case that took place last year were Moyes won damamges from Rooney for stuff he printed in his book if I remember rightly.

Basically, Rooney went from being a humble boy to a complete arrogant twat in the space of 6 months, and was arguing with Moyes and said he had no respect for him. Which looking at the cunts attitude is hardly a surprise is it?

Rooney made his place at Everton unmanageable, so Everton cashed in as they had no choice.

Lescott is a mature adult who I am sure will not act in the same way.

As for the ground share, no, the majority opinion I believe on that is still to redevelop Goodison or move to a new stadium near Scotland Road.
