Leyton Orient (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Yeah, no big deal. If I wasn't a blue I'd want Orient to beat us. The beauty of the FA cup is when big teams get kicked off the park by the underdog, and long may it continue. As long as it's not us though. We had our humblings in the 80s at Halifax and Shrewsbury.
Lets see the dippers get refereed like that tomorrow.

These officials are not the best in FA Cup,
That linesman at the Swamp last night !!
I didn’t enjoy that today, The Toons had a game on as well , just hoping Brighton win Good result for England !! I live in Twickenham, it’s Feckin Manic !!

Dont expect to clock watch against a L1 side when you are Champions of England regardless of team selection. There was enough quality on our side.
Different in the cup isnt it. Away game, early game, lower league oppo, shite officials as much as we moan about the PL ones, giddy crowd. Its the cup and its why its good. Anyone who played sport will tell you these games are banana skins and dont read too much into them.

Entitled to your opinion. Im sticking with mine.

We haven’t been playing like the champions of England for a while so not sure how that applies here. That squad was full of new players and players lacking fitness so they’ll take the win and chance to win a trophy this season even though it wasn’t pretty.

It was genuinely a poorly officiated match and plenty will agree on that.
Exactly..... you make the point. Our performances have been dire, today no exception. No excuses in my book. RM must be rubbing their hands.

2 players making their City debuts. One on his 2nd ever game after only playing 60 mins for us. Marmoush on his 3rd game. Academy players like McAtee and O'Reilly who have had very little game time. Grealish and Lewis who have rarely had a look in of late. Dias and Stones playing a half each after just coming back from injury.

All that and away against a team in good form playing probably the highest profile game of their careers at home and on TV.

Hardly surprising we weren't fluent but we deservedly won.
The mitigating circumstances are becoming a broken record. There was enough quality out there to get the job done. Fed up of all the usual excuses. Some of the stuff was elementary mistakes which continue to haunt us. This is a L1 side whatever the circumstances.

He was a year below me at school (north Manchester for boys), he went through uniteds ranks then kicked out for over turning his mates car. He was always in the bookies on Broadway in new moston.
I knew he was a toe rag!

Couldn't give a shit about your book.

You'll just have to forgive me for not being all doom and gloom after getting a win over a lower league side that played above their level against a team that was heavily rotated full of new players and players lacking match fitness. If this was the same XI that played against Arsenal and performed the same today, then that would be cause for alarm. Games like that are what makes the FA Cup as wonderful as it is.

An awkward away tie but we got the job done. Their goal was flukey but they played well. Shame Nico had to come off, he seems like a decent player, I hope it was just a precautional substitution
