Liam Delap signs new contract until 2026

If he wasn’t one of our ex youth players, the clamour for his return wouldn’t exist.

He’s obviously talented, but needs to play, and wouldn’t with Haaland here.

He’s also very raw and missed his big chances yesterday. He’s not ready to play for a big club yet.
Really cannot understand this logic. Delap is now scoring goals in the PL against good teams for a so called weaker team. Why can he not spend a couple of years, learn from Haaland, get some sub appearances and games.
Do you know how many games Erling is playing with niggles etc? I don't, but giving him the odd rest can't be a bad thing

Because he wants to play.

If we buy a back up, it’ll be a player that can play in different positions as well, like Alvarez did.

Saw this today

Manchester City are not interested in offering Delap a route back to the reigning Premier League champions midway through the campaign, according to GMS sources, even though they will have an opportunity to leave current employers Ipswich helpless if they make a significant U-turn.
The Sky Blues inserted a £30million buyback clause into the deal which took the striker to Portman Road during the summer, meaning they can enter negotiations over personal terms if they lodge a bid which meets that figure, while they also included a 20 per cent sell-on clause to ensure they will profit if he moves elsewhere.
But, in a major twist after Delap has enjoyed a productive start to his Ipswich career, GMS sources have been informed by Manchester City insiders that there is very little chance of Guardiola aiming to lure him back to the Etihad Stadium so soon after he headed through the exit door and a January switch is not currently on the cards.

There's this guy named Cole at some club in London.
Ha ha....a long list of one.

Is he the one who would've made all the difference ?

He was an up & coming squad player.

Who would he have replaced ?

No one,including you,
would've predicted how it's panned out for him.

Revisionism at its best !!

We made a lot of money but that money has been spent on some players ( not all) who are no better than those we sold.
Lavia Doyle Palmer THB all sold for way less than we paid for Philipps Nunes etc
Half the City youngsters you mention were goodish but not at the elite international level to succeed at City.

Ditto Lavia who wouldn't of replaced any City defender or midfielder 2 years ago.

Palmer is the mystery, stay...go...but no loan... was a strange position for City to adopt however no one including you would've predicted how events have panned out.

Football ain't an exact science.....ask the rags !!

And what if the player wants to leave for first team football elsewhere? They do get to have a say in their own career, mate.

Despite having just played in two finals, Palmer obviously did not want to be at City. This has been made clear plenty of times by the best possible source - Pep himself. Other young players may have had similar feelings.

Not having a dig at you btw, mate. But basically we don’t know all the ins and outs of each player’s different circumstances.

Just a thought.....

How about a cheeky offer to Salah for for a two year contract.

Out of contract in summer, no fee, pre contract agreement in January and oceans of boiling piss.

Just a thought.....
