If it's that good why don't they do as a subscription like Netflix Amazon ,Apple TV etc .
rightly so,, well you have two choices, either pay or cease to pay, myself ive not had a licence for some 15 years, yes i'l admit i still watch live TV all be it a lot less than i used to, if you cease at first they will badger you and most certainly you will get a visit along with the monthly letters, they dont bother me now no visits and the letters are rare,i think they have given up on meSo on the letter from tv licensing it states ‘it covers you for all TV channels, pay tv services like sky, and live tv on streaming services like Amazon prime video. As well as everything on bbc iplayer. On any device’
Now, I might be being pedantic here but surely those services come with my bloody telly that have them preloaded or are on my firestick. Am I missing something???
I object paying this now with the amount of shite/repeats they put on. I couldn’t give a fuck about seeing that fat greengrocer show us how a manufacturing plant works. The BBC do one decent drama a year (at best). And there sports coverage is shite!! The only other good thing is gardeners world.
Oh; and Radio 6.
Feel better for getting that off my chest!!
If you watch live tv then that’s what they can do you for, streaming used to be a get out and catch up tv because it wasn’t live, however now prime and Netflix are starting to show live events like boxing, ufc, tennis and football it’s not so easy to say you aren’t watching it. Experts seem to think the license fee will be gone in around 4/5 years anyway as linear tv has to fight off steamers. So on the letter from tv licensing it states ‘it covers you for all TV channels, pay tv services like sky, and live tv on streaming services like Amazon prime video. But what has watching Netflix or prime live got to do with the BBC you pay for those services how the fuck can the BBC demand you have a license due to separate services doesn’t make sense ..If you watch live tv then that’s what they can do you for, streaming used to be a get out and catch up tv because it wasn’t live, however now prime and Netflix are starting to show live events like boxing, ufc, tennis and football it’s not so easy to say you aren’t watching it. I know it’s mental pal but it’s actually to watch live broadcasts, no idea how it works if I’m honest. But what has watching Netflix or prime live got to do with the BBC you pay for those services how the fuck can the BBC demand you have a license due to separate services doesn’t make sense ..
It’s a disgrace I got a letter through the door today they can get to fuck and if anyone calls they’ll be told the same ..I know it’s mental pal but it’s actually to watch live broadcasts, no idea how it works if I’m honest.

The licence is for owning a TV set. Simple as that. Just like having a dog license if you have a dog or a fishing license if you go fishing. But what has watching Netflix or prime live got to do with the BBC you pay for those services how the fuck can the BBC demand you have a license due to separate services doesn’t make sense ..
that’s not strictly true you need a licence to watch live tv, you can have a tv but nit use it for watching live stuff i.e. streaming or catchup as long as it’s not iplayer, unfortunately now some streaming services offer live tv so the goalposts have changed. Getting them to prove you are watching that is a different matter. The licence is for owning a TV set. Simple as that. Just like having a dog license if you have a dog or a fishing license if you go fishing.
Where the money goes is a different argument.
