Well, with this FFP pressure UEFA is putting us under, no chance in hell we'll buy him this summer at least.

Write off his fee over a five year deal, £33m a year, the sponsorship he'll bring will be enormous, he's like a Top F1 driver who takes the money with him wherever he goes, and he whole world will want to watch him playing. Faffing around with sponsors and image rights how much would we actually be having to fork out directly?

Wasn't the rumour last season that Ladyboy going to the Scum was going to get the majority of his cash via a "brand ambassador" role with Chevrolet. I'm sure we'd be being equally cute if he was to come.

I wonder if Barca are happy with the idea that the only club ready, willing and able (PSG are a no no for Messi) to buy Messi and get them out of a financial mire may not do so because of FFP.

That in essence is why the legal challenge will win as it can be proven that FFP is indeed causing players, agents and clubs to lose income.

I've thought about this particular thing quite a bit in recent weeks. Does FFP make Messi untransferable, and how does that effect Barcelona?

For me I think in actual fact when it comes to the crunch, if the boy wants to leave Barca and City are prepared to pay the money, UEFA will get on board. There's enough 'grey' in the FFP rules to ensure a transfer like this can happen.

From Barca's perspective it's quite simple. They need to renovate the Nou Camp plus renovate their squad. If FFP makes their biggest asset and the only way they can pay for these things without bank loans impossible, then FFP is worthless.

And this is why so many chairmen and owners voted for FFP in the premier league, it gives them a perfect reason to not have to put their hands in their pockets, because FFP means we can't pay that for your player but we can pay this

That's not even close to being true.
Yep, I imagine we'd make money in the long run.

Plus UEFA ban Messi from the Champions League? I can of few less likely things.
