Know all that think you missed my point regarding the media
Not really. I don’t think CFG NYC is particularly significant to be a key point in an article for the reasons I explained.

The BBC are terrible when it comes to underhand crap about city. However I don’t think this article omitting us is a big deal.

the whole of this messi will he leave or will he stay is now starting to sound like a shambles and pointless and
messi the premadonna living off past glories

can i add messi best days are behind him and you will not get this so called wonder kid ? you will be getting a 30 odd year old with no guarantee ? manchester city want somebody to help them win champions league ? when was the last time he won the champions league ?

for me messi missed the chance a long time ago if he really wanted a move for football reasons ? now its just business and numbers that's it MONEY will be the key because barcelona don't have enough of it to pay him

I don’t think the CFG link to NYC is really all that significant in convincing Messi to move to us.

Messi won’t exactly have to go on trial to win a contract with any of the MLS teams. He could pick whoever he wants to play for so long as they pay him what he wants.

If he comes here it’s because he wants to play in England, he wants to play in a team that can win the Champions League, he wants to play under Guardiola and we can pay him accordingly.

Our link to NYC is just a bit of garnish that we’ll talk up to justify the CFG thing but for me it won’t move the needle on whether he signs for us or not.
Im not so sure....with our link itcould mean that any contract he signs is for CFG and not just Mancity.....threfore he cold dictate a lonter contract with say for instance 3 years with us and then 3 years with NYC (or whatever length of contract he desires and split it how he wants)....I would have thought this is definitely a positive for all concerned as it means he doesnt have to negotiate a new contract with new image rights etc when he does move.

His option seem quite simple:

1. Stay at Barca - then go to MLS
2. Move to PSG
3. Move to City and then to the MLS with New York City
4. Move straight to MLS from Barca

Therefore its 1 or 3 for me.

Agree except I would say that the PSG option probably has increased in possibility due to some of his comments of late too. If CL is indeed his priority, Ligue 1 is irrelevant but playing with Mbappe & Neymar could represent the best attack possible for him irrespective of coach (Now improved perhaps by Poch)

Pep is his ideal coach but I do not see City as a major advantage over say Barca in terms of CL due to squad strengths/weaknesses. Especially if it is true he would consider a 2-3 year departure without uprooting his family, meaning the city/weather etc wouldn't matter much - just which options present the best chances of winning CL

City could bolster their squad to accommodate Messi in the summer in terms of attack so there is that possibility too

Similar at Barca if Laporta's pitch seduces him with a winning project, esp. if led by Xavi as coach

A lot of variables - maybe 60/20/20 in terms of Options 3, 2 & 1 atm since I still believe he has a foot out the door
