City are Chelsea's biggest rivals in the PL. We put Chelsea's nose out of joint getting Lampard for the season. London is probably a bigger attraction for Messi and his girlfriend. Getting Messi would be a huge publicity coup for any club. Chelsea know we have been working on getting Messi for years, but they are in a better financial position with FFP to acquire him. Big decisions to be made!

Chelsea fans seem convinced that Adidas and Turkish airlines will front the majority of the cost, Shirley that's not allowed is it?

Some blues think Nike and Etihad will be footing the bill so who knows. I presume whilst it would not be a case of the sponsor directly paying for Messi, in a round about way they would through renegotiated deals

Yes I know - but Nike might want him to still wear the Nike shirt rather than lose him to adidas.

I seem to recall, other than the rags, every club Beckham went to was an Adidas wearin club so I have no doubt sponser do hold some weight in these things

Yeah perhaps, although Beckham was wearing Nike at PSG

There has been an understanding allegedly about Ronaldo being at an Adidas club and messi at a Nike club. If messi went to an Adidas club and Nike list the association i would wager that they would put considerable pressure on Ronaldo being at a Nike club

What do you mean by considerable pressure?

Ronaldo is their golden boy, they will do everything they can to keep him on board whether he be playing in Adidas at Madrid or in Nike at PSG/City

I seem to remember him going to a club once and wearing a skirt, not adidas ;)

Bloody Chelsea again, I wish they'd just fuck off. If Messi is realistically available we need to be outbidding those cunts. If he goes there instead of us I'm done with football (not that anyone else gives a shit, obviously, just saying!) but the FFP cartel will have won and we're pissing in the wind against Platini's favourites. We have a richer owner but his hands are tied, it's anything but 'fair play'.

This is off AS....last paragraph doesn't sound too clever if it's true.

Luis Enrique and Lionel Messi
Barça are becoming a ticking time bomb. On Sunday night Cadena Cope revealed that Messi has confronted the club’s board of directors and Luis Enrique, who he sees as a “master of the dressing room”. The Argentine has become irritated by the excessive authoritarianism of the coach. As previously reported by this newspaper only last week, 2015 will be the year Chelsea make their move for the Argentine, with Cesc Fábregas one of his best friends in the game.

Messi did not attend the open training session on Monday due to an upset stomach but the signs are that the relationship is not working. In addition, El Mundo Deportivo also revealed resentment between the coach at the club’s star man in the first training session of the year, in which Luis Enrique was the referee and in which the Argentine claimed a foul that the Spaniard did not award during a five-a-side game. They proceeded to have an exchange of opinions.

The situation at the club, especially after defeats, seems set to explode. Although Messi is understood to have cast serious offers from PSG or Manchester City aside, the murmurs are starting to come that this summer could be the one Messi abandons Barça. A Barça that cannot sign anyone until 2016.
