Which sponsors will help back this deal in the present circumstances?

Covid and lack of spectators to me make this deal impossible to pull off even if he wanted to come.

It would be wonderful to see him in sky blue, but the cost is just too great, and we have bigger priorities at this time.

Pepsi?

The board hired a PR company called i3 ventures to create bot accounts on social media to attack Messi, his wife, and other people like Pique, Pep, Xavi who are seen as threats by the board.

And then they paid them €1 million, which an audit by PWC declared was 4x the value of the legitimate work they did, and then paid them in installments <€200k so that they didn't have to be publicly disclosed.

So when Messi says he feels like the board is leaking things to tarnish his standing with the fans, it's not paranoia.

this is quite interesting.

i did wonder how Barca would play this. Clearly they need to get rid of the salary and influence of Messi so they can properly move on and rebuild the team. The only issue is they need to do this without upsetting the fans, who still adore him for the most part........

Tuchel at PSG after they just lost the CL final:

“He is very welcome! Which clubs says no to Messi? We have chosen not to speak about transfers. We will sit together in the next few days and have many things to do improve the squad and keep the level of the players that we missed here. I think Messi finishes his career in Barcelona. He is Barcelona.”

Publicly declaring him welcome is a very clever move by PSG
