Good summary.

You never know though. I remember this time last season in the aftermath of Liverpool's CL win I was thinking Bayern Munich were done. Ribery and Robben had gone and they had an ageing squad. 12 months later they are champions. When Guardiola came to City we had just finished 4th and got 66 points. We spent a lot of money, had one transitional season, and then won the league. It can be done quick.

Do you think it is possible to rebuild with Messi in the side? To be honest I have some sympathy with the position of selling Messi and rebuilding as I think having a player who is so central to the team hampers the development of plaayers like Griezmann
You mean like signing a Portuguese geezer and finishing 4th, and you feel like you just won the lottery?

We've all gone insane!

Do you really think the best player in football history can be forced into staying without playing football for 5 months ?
If he is asked to play, do you think the club or fans will be happy seeing an unmotivated Messi in the team ?That's bad PR for everyone involved including Messi which is why it will never happen.

If this happens, it's this window or never.
Who is to say he won't be playing? Messi has made it known that he now wishes to leave on amicable grounds. Maybe staying till January while Barca find a replacement and this going through court so he can leave for free will be his way of doing just that. Barca fans adore him and it may be an opportunity for him to say goodbye and leave an even bigger hero. In a scenario like this anything is possible. Even him staying.
