Sums it up perfectly for me. Will go down as one of the greats but for him to be the the best of all time he will have to leave Barcelona(Never happen imo) in a new setting and perform at the same level he is now. 10% of Leo Messi IS Barcelona and if that was taken away I don't think he'd be regarded as the best ever.

I don't doubt you do pal, I was referring to the fact me and my mates have the Messi vs Ronaldo debate regularly. My one mate uses the "Iniesta and Xavi" argument all the time, but now I can finally shut him up.

I am confident Messi would not be a close to brilliancy he is showing in Barca in any other team... his Argentina performances sum it perfectly, there's no free runs there like when Xavi, Iniesta. Busquets and company make other team look silly and than pass to him

Have to disagree there Damo. To say Napoli back in the 80's where a shit team is way of the mark with the likes of Maradona, Giordano, Careca to name a few.

I tire of the "he's only good because he plays in a great team" I'd actually put it the other way round and say Messi makes the rest of the team look better. I watch every Barca game and how anyone can't see he is the best player in the world is beyond me. Ronaldo is a fucking good player but he can't do some of the stuff Messi can, whereas I've seen Messi do EVERYTHING Ronaldo can.
