Sane against Alexander Arnold will be a key area for us to exploit. Does anyone know why Can did not player for Liverpool against Palace?

Same team as yesterday with two changes:

Bernard for Sterling and Delph for Laporte

We can't afford Sterling suffering with stage fright again like he did in the League, it was like playing with ten men at times so take the pressure away from him and put Bernard in.

Like others have stated having Silva and Kompany available this time around will hopefully make a huge difference on our League display, away goals are vital.

Leaving Raz on the bench also takes away one aspect of what helps lift their crowd, they can’t boo him if he’s not on the pitch.

Edit.....haha, caught up on thread and now realised this was being said, lol.

I think (hope) Raz was taken off early yesterday due to this rumour of him being a bit under the weather.

Do we put it down to too much drink last night or too much chocolate this morning?

They are going to rely on that front 3 grabbing chances because their attacking options and midfield are shocking, we will control the game but we need to be wary of their pace and work rate. For me Danilo has to play either way to pen back Salah with Otta and Kompany at the back and Walkers pace will also pen Mane back. We then just need to keep the ball and exploit their crap central midfield. It will probably be Henderson and Milner in there and they will struggle for wide options with Lalana injured too.

The only way they can win is to dominate the ball and stop us playing which does sometimes happen against them so we need to be careful.

We just need to do what we did against Everton yesterday and it should be comfortable to be honest. If we can keep the ball for 65%+ of the game like yesterday then the chances will come because they can't defend for peanuts and their goalkeepers are liabilities too. When we played them at their place we lost our heads for 10 minutes, had we not done that then we would of won comfortably.

Sane——Dave—KDB—-Silva

————-——Fern

Delph—Nico—VK—Walker

—————Ederson
This team all day,Delph got the engine & a couple off tough tackles on salad, then see if he goes missing...1-3...1-4

I think we will play:
Ederson
Walker
Otamendi
Kompany
Danilo
Fernandinho
Gungongan
Silva
Kdb
Sane
Bernardo

The formation yesterday was a try out for Wednesday

We played a hybrid of back three / four but with walker playing as a winger/right midfield

Can see the logic with Liverpool’s main threat coming down there right, it make sense to play a more defensive option there and keep tight to Salah , a bit like Young did with him for the rags

We also brought sterling in closer to the middle rather than out wide , meaning we were playing with two central forwards. This was as a result of walkers position.

De Bruyne also dropped into that right sided channel and he was the man starting most of the build up , him and Fernandinho were always open for a pass, pep has learnt from the Anfield game where pressure was put on Fernandinho and he was exposed

I would expect the exact same team on Wednesday as yesterday

Pure sense

Is Delph fit then? An obvious worry area is left-back against Salah. We simply don't have a fantastic defensive left back option but Delph seems to be the best choice. Wouldn't fancy the immobility of Laporte/Danilo there nor the inexperience of Zinchenko.

A score draw is a good result, a win is fantastic.

Think 10 of the 11 pick themselves, Bernardo vs Sterling for the final spot - normally I'd pick Sterling 9 times out of 10, but in a game where we may need a little more control I won't be disappointed with Bernardo in there.

Ederson
Walker Kompany Otamendi Delph
Fernandinho
Sterling/Bernardo De Bruyne Silva Sane
Jesus

Ederson

Walker
Otamendi
Vinny
Danilo

Fernandinho
Kdb
Silva

Bernardo
Jesus
Sane
Actually, I think I'd go with that if Delph is still out. Salah usually cuts inside so having a right sided player in Danilo could prove very useful.

De Bruyne certainly played a lot deeper yesterday than he normally does and at times he was playing alongside Dinho offering support and options at every given opportunity, interesting to see if this was done with Wednesday in mind?

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Otamendi
Laporte
Fernandinho
Silva
De Bruyne
Sane
Jesus
Berny

similar to yesterday
