I don't make the rules! It's either a "clear and obvious error" or it isn't, and if it isn't then according to the game's own rules then VAR shouldn't be involved, because they're only involved when a clear and obvious error has occurred, and if the ref CANNOT see it, it's not an error, clear or otherwise.

We see decisions all the time which are not given because the ref hasn't seen it.
Do you know if Taylor saw the shirt pull in real time?

If not, that’ll be why he changed his mind.

What was the xg upto seventy five minutes ? , they created three or four chances when we had to open up the game in the last 15 minutes, stats are not the gospel of the game , its your own f*cking eyes watching the game , we had more possession , shots and corners and by far the better team.
We lost to a dodgy VAR and a full back who had a brain fart ,

I don’t know mate. I’d assume the Salah one on one that Ederson saved probably put them ahead of us, but that’s only a guess.

We we’re the more controlled team, but they had 5-6 dangerous counter attacks, which is why the XG is what it was.

None of the other “fouls” that he didn’t blow for were in the lead up to a goal. That’s why there is an “inconsistency“.

He let go most of what he thought might have been a foul, which was good for the game.

If you pull the shirt of an opponent in this day and age, it’ll be scrutinised and penalised in the build up to a goal.
How can it be good to let the game after "what he thought might be a foul"? if it's going to end with a resulting goal being disallowed? The ref might as well just give the foul. There's no point playing on.

I don’t hugely disagree with this, but what if the ref is 50/50 or 55/45 on a foul? Does he blow or not blow and look at the monitor afterwards?

It’s how offsides are now officiated, so why not fouls too?
Offsides are almost black & white (barring the odd curvy line at anfield) the number of contentious decisions has been reduced dramatically this season, handballs leading up to a goal & in the penalty box has been a constant grey area, with var ruling/over-ruling most of these decisions, and now you want to take even more decisions away from refs, we’re heading towards an NFL type scenario here, I’ll tell you what the ref needs to do, and that’s grow a pair, say it how ‘he’ sees it and do the job he is paid to do, then have enough about him to stand firm in his decision making & referee with complete consistency.

It happens in every game. Every one.

If a ref isn’t 100% convinced its a penalty, they don’t give it, especially now we have VAR.

It’s far better to not blow for a foul every 30 seconds, isn’t it?

What you are asking for isn’t possible with human input.

Taylor is one of the few refs to actually have stayed with a decision he was sent to VAR to look at this season.
