If you notice the teams they’ve had difficulty with are those that let them attack up the wings and have speed to play in behind them when they lose the ball.

We never learn. They play with practically 10 behind the ball. They double and triple up on the supply line to any quick ball into the box. We are too slow against them. We push up more and more to the halfway line with our last man.
They press hard, win a loose ball and break with speed behind us.
Every time.
And it could have got a lot worse at the end except for Nunez not getting his head up.

We don’t have real speed so cannot play a similar game against them. We don’t draw them in then hit on the break but unfortunately that’s where teams are profiting against them.
yup spot on....every season esp at their place.

Our set up plays perfectly into Liverpools hands time and time again.

Liverpool are our kryptonite! Pep has his style and it’s unbelievably successful but at Anfield you go toe to toe 100mph even play it like a basketball game because you know liverpool will no stop running from min one tip 95th min!

10 game played second the league starts in the last months of the league we in a great position!

Even this early in the season a win for us would have written them off completely.

This result cuts the gap, of course still a big one but also has the possibility of getting them back on track when they could have been dead and buried.
Agreed.
In my view, it was not much different to our letting the rags off the hook a couple of weeks ago. They were there to be humiliated and we eased off.
Today, we kept doing the same things with the same results. When changes were needed, they weren't made. We had the tools to win easily today but Pep didn't use them.
Never mind... We'll still win the league this season.

If that was the other way at Anfield there isnt even a VAR review and the goal is given, that is the issue referee's always crumble in the big games when the Dippers are invlolved , look at the tackle Thiago did on KDB when he thundered in out of control with both feet and cleaned him out , OK he slipped but his momentum was to leave something on the player. But its the Dippers and a packed Anfield so net even a VAR review.
The Dippers got out of jail today and Clubshop knows full well , they are'nt getting anywhere near us this season.
Rodri?

I don't think we have the quality to win CL to be fair, we have a great technical team passing wise, and when KDB plays in correct position Haaland has a chance. Problem being we do have deficiencies n speed dep't and we set up in such an unnatural way to counteract speed, and it makes it worse. Id rather us stick it out and try and win these games 3 - 2 ...what he tried to do was block off all over laps to our detriment. When he found out Milner was playing sacrifice one of the players, get Grealish on and KDB playing deep centre, ok, extra cover on the Robertson side may be needed but to do nothing when Milner was playing = wasted opportunity. Got what we deserved today
We deserved a point today if not more. But I do agree the team selection was too Conservative and KDB wasn't able to influence the game

It was a foul....soft foul yes but a foul

us losing had nothing to do with that...some of out players dont have the fight in that type of inense game...we have repeatedly seen it down the years with Gundogan, mahrez esp...today it was no suprise it was cancello and also KDB who goes missing at times in games like this...not consistently but he has previous for it.
If that was a foul the ball would be in play for about 5 minutes a game and we'd just be watching a load of players taking free kicks for 85 minutes, this game included.

This is down to pep, his tactics were wrong. KDB out of position, late substitution when ee had strong bench. It was not our day. I still trust pep and this team we will come back stronger. Dont forget guys were 4 ponts away from top and scousers in the 8th place.

He has got a point.

Fabinho was obstructing Haaland from the Ball, and already falling back.

Taylor likely saw the little Shirt Tug right then, and ignored it.

No foul...

No free kick awarded.

We go on to score a goal from another phase of play.

Ref instructed by VAR to go and take a look at 2 issues 1st issue being Ball under control in keeper Hands. It wasn't.

They go back even further to the Shirt tug, the Shirt Tug the ref likely saw but let go, because he wasn't going to blow for it.

Goal disallowed.

All about the consistency for me.

We see this behaviour happening in 9/10 corners, and open play all game, Goals are scored. Referees are not instructed to go to VAR monitors to disallow a Goal for a Shirt Tug in a different phase of play.

Some might call it Paranoia. I feel when we play the cartel teams all our goals are forensically analyzed to find any reason at all to disallow them.

Next week will see goals scored, that involve a small Shirt Tug in the build up play ignored. Zero VAR intervention, Goal given.

They actually changed Hand Ball rules after robbing us.

VAR gives a fail safe level to in game corruption.

And we are more often than not on the receiving end of it.
