Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

I wonder if Pep and his staff were thinking that Allisson has intimate knowledge of the way Gabriel Jesus takes penalties?

Great result, was cacking it beforehand and would have taken a draw any day of the week. Missed pen was poor but the slating he is getting is ridiculous. If the ref did his job properly we would have a least one other pen and it would not have mattered.
We played possibly the hardest away match for us in a season, due to history and recent results and people are still not happy! I hate this age of keyboard warriors

I’m still not over last season’s defeats but the missed penalty took me about an hour to get over - a point is absolutely fine and leaves us 1 point ahead of equivalent matches last season. Liverpool look as though they’ve blown themselves out and we’ve still got de bruyne to come back

Huddersfield +2 points, Liverpool + 1 point, wolves -2 points = + 1 point on last season.

As soon as the pen was given I thought there's not one city player on the pitch I'd be hugely confident in scoring it. Given the technical ability of each and every player in our squad that's pretty astonishing. Sergio is our regular taker and even he's not particularly good. I reckon ederson would have probably scored it, he's got balls of steel and that's what it's all about because there's not a player in our squad that doesn't have the technical ability to take good pens imo.
To be perfectly honest, I'd have been confident if Ederson or Sane took it.

There was no justification for keeping Sterling on but more than enough for keeping Mahrez there.

But think about this. Jesus played for Brazil in the World Cup qualifying tournament and the finals. I assume that they practiced taking penalties numerous times in their training sessions. Who was one of the goalkeepers he would have been practicing against?

But wouldn't Jesus know how to send him the wrong way?

Anyway, the Star had the best line with Pep saying "Forgive me, Jesus"

Bloody gutted deserved the win, wouldn’t have been greatly confident if Jesus had taken it tbh. We had the best player on the pitch in Bernardo and the worst with Mendy who was laughably bad. Mahrez penalty aside had a very good second half.

Menday was actully very good off the ball but was dog shit with it...

“Ran his cause” ??? You fuckkin nob
Zzzzzzzz don't like my opinion don't care.

No need for insults, fwiw Dino has been a revelation & 1 of the best CM we have had but we fucked it big time in the Summer, we dipped on Jorginio & got bummed for it. He is now showing his class after only 7 games, not paying an extra 5-10m has been a big mistake.

We now have to pay way over the odds for a young kid.

I stand by my opinion we need a player urgent in January to give Dino time off.

He had a bad first 20 but then was exceptional in my opinion.

He drove at Liverpool for half the game.

We need a replacement now though, someone to pick up half the burden and then take over.

What a player Fernandinho has been for us though, I’m sure you’ll agree with that.
I'm not slagging him off, he has been unbelievable great player & goes un noticed in many games he works his knackeres off. What is noticeable now is the lack of pace or that not being able to win the ball back when he looses it in bad areas. He is picking up many yellows now because of his temperament or daft loss of possession.

I love him he plays well above his size but not a chance we win champions league with no back up.

Pep would love to leave him out to keep him fresh in big games but we ain't got that defensive back up or ball carrier out from the back, Gundagun ain't that player, Stones is our main RCH so help is required.

All I'm saying.
