Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

Disagree on major rebuild but players who are not good enough need to be replaced as well as signing striker and left back.
Major rebuild as in a quality LB, defensive midfielder, Sterling replacement and top quality striker.

And that's dependent on if Bernardo still wants to stay (I'm not so sure) so potentially replacement for him too.

That's major in my view.

We must just be very fortunate to be getting away with being top of the league and in a second Champions League semi-final in 12 months without a striker...

Imagine if we were any good and only losing by one goal with half a team missing against the greatest team ever to play the game, having given them a three goal head start?

This team and Pep will not let us down this season.

Let Liverpool take all the plaudits, we will take the two trophies that matter.
I really respect you mate but I think you are being too optimistic this time. I expect Liverpool to swat Utd aside no problem. We have rubbed their noses in it a couple of times but I fear its now their turn. The die was cast with our summer transfer business and we still have Peps tinkering to contend with. His approach is starting to mirror last season albeit we had a healthy lead in the PL. Love him or loathe him Klopp stays consistent and plays to their strengths. I fear a painful end of season but sincerely hope I am wrong.

Foden needed a rest for me he put a shift in but was off it,’was tough game for him and the rest of the team Wednesday and why we were well of it first half plus a goalie who ain’t good enough.

It could have gone to extra time and we might have still lost but then also be totally fucked for Brighton

maybe time to start playing the kids in the fa cup, unless we don’t get out of the CL group

isnt that the third year on the trot we’ve worked our nuts off to get to the semis only to find ourselves having to prioritise other matches?
True, perhaps it’ll be the way until we get the CL monkey off our back. Or we simply aren’t arrogant/daft enough to chuck all our eggs in one basket and will try and win them all until something gives.

I can’t believe Liverpool will keep up this undefeated run for the rest of the season.

No zip about our play today. No real urgency. We get one back early doors but nothing really after that . Just a weird performance and nothing to get excited about.
Feel sorry for Stefen. Ake did well but apart from that there was nothing to write home about but considering what had taken place the last week it seems a little bit over the top to be too hard on the boys.

I don’t like being critical of out support but today was grim. Just nothing in my block. No passion no one seeming to care just nothing. Way too may half and half scarfs, too many people on their phones and just a really poor away end. Considering what i know our support is and can be I was just left a bit exasperated and given shitty looks when I tried to get something going or for people to stand up and get behind the teams.

Then to top it all the tube back with a carriage full of those fans giving me shit and having the balls to say we are a tin pot club and had no crowd back in the 80s.. easy to get lively when you have a backing. He didn’t like it when I just kept repeating that he was a liar. Just one of my least enjoyable days following this wonderful club. Maybe a tad harsh on the following today but not what I associate with city.

That first half was on the players, individual mistakes, a lack of intensity, craft & creativity, bottle, hunger, risk & lots more. The same players turned it around second half & ran them close, was that Pep or the players? I’d say Pep gave them the platform & opportunity but it was the eleven on the pitch that produced the performance. What do you consider Peps fuck ups? Yes we could be in an fa cup final with another blood & thunder tie against a highly motivated opponent (probably Chelsea) who have nothing else to play for. But we could also be sat ere with 3-4 season ending injuries, and a squad that was shattered & demoralised and lost the game anyway. For years now our support has wanted Pep to prioritise the big two comps (like Klopp), the minute this is almost forced on him/us people are up in arms ycnmiu. Our squad has been shown as weaker than Liverpools, therefore we have adjusted accordingly, you could say roles have been reversed. Maybe the answer lies with our transfer policy, Diaz Konate & Jota for a little more than a Jack Grealish
Come on, the final score only papered over the cracks. We got the early goal yet didnt really ever go for it. Neither did pep think it was worth changing things to try and retrieve it.We prioritised the CL over this competition last year as well only for a no show in the final. losing is never welcome especially to those unbearable cunts.
You're right about our transfer policy though. Far too lightweight and wasteful up front. That should have been addressed.

agree with most of that, but when we have selected a side that gave us no chance of winning and was 2 down in minutes, the whole thing was a massive anti climax, waste of time and money

After the type of game we played on Wednesday compared to theirs this was an expected performance. Their fans made a lot of noise but you would do if you were 2 0 up.

Never see anything other than negative posts from you, why bother? You must be one joyous person to be around, in life not just football.
