Big penalties need to be converted. You know, like Cup Finals and Top 6 games, as a start.Haaland, 17 converted pens from 20 in the PL. That'll do me. Why do we expect a flawless record? From replay on MOTD, he hit yesterday's well. Credit the keeper who may have went early (edit: foot was behind the line on video evidence on Youtube)
And, what exactly is “went early”??? A keeper can “go” any time he wants, as long as at least one foot is on the line (or behind it) when the kick is taken.
It was an average save. He got down well, but the ball was at least a yard short of the post and Haaland telegraphed the direction. Heresy though it may be, the side foot penalty kick needs to be very exact, and unless Haaland takes them better, it’s going to be a toss up whether he scores going forward. If the keeper guesses right, he’s going to save that penalty every time.
