If you watch a reply he takes a bad touch which puts the ball behind him so he has to adjust and is not quite at the right angle for the perfect shot or pass.
His lob did get deflected over too which may have made a difference.

I have watched it, many times, to capture those frames, and I have posted the one *just* before he attempts the chip to show the pass to Foden (or the sweep pass in to the far post) were very much the easier of the potential options, and far more likely to result in a goal.

I found a dipper today that was not deluded. He was very sheepish about their chances to beat us to anything this season. Admitted that we played them off the park. I was ready to rip him a new 1 but he was that deflated I did not have to.

Slightly disappointed tbh. What has happened to the opposition? somewhat floundering after 1 disappointing performance. I told him to stop reading fake stories about how good the dippers are portrayed and how shit and lucky city have been to compete with the greatest team created. Anyway, I left with the moral high ground as I only called him a murdering twat once and asked him to prepare to get battered on Saturday. Think he was glad to get back to work…which was another surprise lol.

In a way I’m wondering if a draw was a better result for us, hear me out! Four points clear and let’s be honest it’s over, they know it, we know it. Phew, relief all around. Players happy they can now coast in the league, but its then hard to just switch on for cup games. This way everything is up for grabs, no coasting or switching off in any game. Just a thought.

I doubt any Blue in the known universe would have been saying "I wonder if a draw would have been a better result as it would keep us focussed" had we actually won the game.
Stop the fucking excuses.
We won all our late season games three years ago because we had a top-class striker. We'll struggle to do it this time because we dominate without winning. - That doesn't mean we won't win the PL of course, but I reckon we need seven wins from seven as I don't see the dippers dropping points. - Or being allowed to drop points.

I wondered what he was trying to achieve launching it long like that.
i always dread him kicking it long without any purpose.
he did it against palace a few years back. Which resulted in them grabbing a winner late on.
we should have defended better afterwards but it was a cheap giveaway

A few have claimed that the previous frame I posted showing the options available to Riyad for the potential game-winning chance at the end of the match was misleading, and that he couldn’t actually make the pass to Foden or sweep it in to the far post.

So here is a frame from *just* before he sends it in the stands with lines for what he did (red) and what he could have done (yellow).

I am not sure how anyone could argue that playing Foden in was not the easier of the two options, and mostly certainly an all but certain game winner.

Wonder if there’s a similar angle for the Raz offside goal somewhere in the sky vaults

Because it is the best chance the opposition have of winning the ball. And then playing through us.

Liverpool's midfield could not handle City yesterday, both Fabinho and Thiago struggled with the intensity and energy of City. Unfortunately, against most PL teams they don't face that quality and they have enough.

Fabinho is slower to than Gareth Barry.
