Liverpool (H) | Post match thread

Back from the game. Obviously it was a cracker, two contrasting styles but both great sides. It must have been a dream for a neutral after some of the dross I've seen lately but when you're emotionally involved it's nervy.

Every Blue I spoke to after the game was gutted we didn't win it. The sterling chance at 0-0, fuck me the whole goal to place it and he hits Allison. Jesus a bit greedy when in good positions in the second half but at least he scored and in general had a decent game. They were dirty fuckers and as usual allowed to get away with it. After a good first half Foden faded In the second. Kev immense. Should have won but at least it's still in our hands. The Mahrez chance was at the opposite end to me but I'm sure I'll curse him when I watch it back. Today as all season, highlighted we really need a couple of clinical strikers, more power. A revamp is needed in the summer if the right players are available.

Wouldn’t mind if he shot!
His whole wheelhouse is bending it in from an inside position….

It’s the decision to go for the lob that I’m baffled by. Borders on arrogance!
As I say... Self-belief. All top players have an arrogant streak. Jesus wasted at least two great opportunities to set up better chances.

The one where the game was halted definitely was thrown by a Liverpool fan onto the pitch… it was thrown into their section by a City fan initially
The mind boggles at the stupidity of some people. Why would anyone throw something like that into a group of people.

Remember when people were saying we are a better team without KDB! Hang your heads in shame. As much as I love Bell, Summerbee, Trautman, Lee, Kompany, Merlin, Aguero and Yaya controversially I’m putting it out there that KDB is our greatest ever player.
it’s ridiculous isn’t it. KDB is our most important player by a mile. He is in top form which is good news for us.

Could somebody explain the offside rules to me please?

Sterling is running forward so his body is in a different position to the defender.

how on earth can his shoulder be classed as offside in that situation?

Also WTF with the KDB foul being give as a free kick when it should have been a second yellow?

So that mKes it right does it. I am nearly 76 years old but have to unzip my jacket and remove my hat before being wanded and allowed entry. Yet these pillocks can successfully bring incendiary devices into the stadium?
Not at all. I’m like you, even have my wheelchair bag scanned and opened. Can’t do with bellends and their flares & Smoke bombs

someone said put Liverpool front player into the chances we missed, Sterling at the start of the game, Mahrez in last second with the chip, Jesus who didnt cross it into KDB arriving, and more or less that is 2-3 goals scored.

Also to be honest we may have scored the goal that Jota scored (not 100% of the time tho) but Jesus or Sterling would have missed Mane's one because they would have gone closer until the chance fizzles out and GK comes out to save, collect.

what was great Jesus goal he scored it with one touch, first idea, first touch, boom, the woodwork helped thank God.
if he tries to bring it down or do anything else with it, its dead.

Walker made a huge mistake on Mane, no way he should run in behind him like that.
Our players overthink it. Put your foot through the ball, keep your head up and its in the net. Do that and we will have no more issues next Wednesday or on Saturday which i am now really looking forwards to.

I've just got in from the game. I thought overall we played really well. We should have put it to bed with the amount of good chances that we had though. I can't believe we didn't win. Apart from the first 10-15 mins of the second half I thought we were much better than them.

Ederson's kicking was uncharacteristically off his usual standard today. But apart from that I don't want to be negative about any of the players individually.

We’ve started the second half poorly all season, i said it right from the off in the early games this season, this is from September:

About ¼ of the home stands hadn’t bothered getting back to their seats neither. While Liverpool fans had all got back to their seats, were well up for it and their team were the same.
Agree , we looked sloppy coming out that 2nd half. We should have been out first geeing each other up to concentrate full on for the first 10 mins. Had we seen that out I have no doubts we'd have won.
Raz's goal was onside - another LIVARPOOL Kop out from Tierney
Big result for the P.L.

Probably because they are used to getting decisions against them when they do something.

All these bullshit calls we've had will have an effect.

Sterling looked liked he'd finally shaken the last sandbag off his back when he scored only to have the 0.5 second obligatory LiVARpool decision take it off it.

About time the PL fronted up and admitted they want WWE entertainment over the actual rules of the game.

I can see a F1 style stitch up on us to give the cultists and their fawning media chums the result they wanted. They'll drown in their jizz if they can manufacture a moment which takes Sergio's goals from the zenith of PL finishes.

Magnificent performance by the entire team. Kev led the way Raz dangerous and infuriating, Phil started well too. Bernie complete terrier, Len and Kyle some lovely work. Stones and Laporte generally excellent.

Dippers are an efficient team, the forwards are clinical. But some me, what a cynical bunch of dirty scruffs?

Altrincham not giving 2nd and 3rd yellows to the dippers, extremely poor. It's a welcome point, but could have been more.

Do we play a weakened side on Saturday, and concentrate on the Prem and CL? Do we hell!!!! Let's see what Stonehenge gob is made of!
