Liverpool in Pot 2 in next season's CL, Where do we go?

It's a shame Arsenal made 4th really. We could be looking at a 50/50 chance of getting one from Porto, Benfica and Schalke who are, in my humble opinion, strong pot 2 teams going off previous seasons.

As it is it's a 1 in 3 chance, with 2 in 3 likely we'll get one of the big 3 or Atletico. Wouldn't mind Atletico who will surely have a hangover from an incredible season this.

Also pot 2 is so important this year- in previous years it was actually quite weak- usually full of clubs who'd had a few good years and gone a bit stale- Now it contains PSG, Dortmund and Juve- important to avoid all 3. Meanwhile Liverpool have a 3 in 7 chance of getting one of the 3. Could be a very tough year for them.

its utterely fucking galling that Arsenal are in pot 1 its why the CL stinks
agreed
but in pot 2 we stand a better chance of a good draw, all progress

Yea they have it cushty and every year they got knocked out as soon as they play someone half decent

Don't care who we get. For me it makes the league round interesting if we get decent teams. And being in the CL cup scheme that matters!!! Bring em all on. Barca in the early round at least might give me a sniff at a ticket for the away game.

Looking at this it’s ironic that United’s cock up this season has helped us again by lifting us up a pot.
If they had qualified they would still be in pot 1 and everyone else would move down a place.

This keeps us away from the strong looking teams in pot two until the knock out stages. Time to put together some good CL runs and get into the little cartel that is pot 1

Draw for Arsenal's Play-off round is 8 August 2014 with games to be played 19–20 August 2014 & 26–27 August 2014

Presumably they will be seeded. Napoli and Porto also have to go through the Play offs

Do we need a good run this year then to stay in pot 2?
What year gets knocked off the points for next season?

We'll get 4 points just for being in the Group and then the National co-efficients.

And it looks like our 2009/10 season where we had 3.5856 points will drop out of the 5 year average meaning that the only way is up

Yes and Liverpool lose their high of 24 so unless they have a run to the final stages next season they will drop down the rankings

Utd's co-efficient will plunge to around 100. They'll be in danger of losing their Top seed status if they qualify for 2015-16.......and a tough C/L draw costs League points

So provided we can get out of the groups again we might be up in the 90s next year by losing that 3.5 score?
