Liverpool Post Match Thread

Bigger fish to fry ? Bigger than staying top of the premier league, utter utter garbage. Unfortunately the players seem to think the same, the manager certainly does.

Staying top of the league in the short term is not the priority if it is done at the expense of the long-term strategy. Being top is only important when the final whistle blows on the final game of the season.

The 3pts were our priority , or should have been. As last season we will sacrifice everything to achieve success in the Champions league until we get knocked out again. This competition has already cost us trophies & is doing again. If in May we are champions I will gladly say you were right & I was wrong.

it doesn't help that our three best players Aguero Silva and Kompany are also our most injury prone

Based on the capture of Sterling it was possibly felt that we had enough up front, but again yesterday he missed three great chances, for a front man and the money paid, he has to work on being more clinical

Bring back Pearce!
Genuine question, in the post match thread do you ever post anything about the match?

Because I've noticed in a few that you only seem to post tired cliché's, and stupid shit like the above post. We were awful yesterday, and people are rightfully pissed off by that. You seem to be on a one man mission to antagonise said people.

Bluemoon 115
First of all dont tell me i post stupid shit you silly little boy.I have an opinion and dont wind people up when i post if you dont like what you read, thats up to you
If you are upset by the Performance yesterday you are not on your own

Spot on,we have bigger matches and teams to worry about, still it doesn't ease the pain of the shocking performance yesterday but losing one game doesn't mean we are out of the running for the title in November..

Having watched the game again,on TV this time,i must apologise to the linesman in front of East stand first half,my view wasnt fantastic and subsequently he wasnt a useless cnut.......the fact is,our defence was even more shambolic than it looked at the time and his decisions were spot on.

Lots of people are hurting, largely, I suspect because of having to listen to Redknapp, Carragher, Owen, Mcmanaman, Thompson, Quinn etc crowing in the media. For me, I recognise that, without days like yesterday I wouldn't have enjoyed putting them in their place quite as much as I have. And, to be honest, I've loved every second of their outrage and indignation. It really is their cup final and I don't say that lightly. They approach games against the rags with a huge inferiority complex but games against us as though we are the architects of their current lowly status. Deliciously, they are justified in that belief so I'm not surprised they burst every sinew to beat us. To his credit, Pellegrini sees the game for what it is, just another game against a mid-table side and, rightly, expected the players to turn in a competent performance sufficient to beat them. The point is, we have bigger fish to fry in midweek which, in the scheme of things, we can do and still win the league comfortably, injuries permitting.

Nail on the head , MP treated the dippers like any other mid table team , we rested a couple of players for the big game on Wednesday , and we let the opposition worry about us , but he didnt take into account Klopp , a decent tactically aware manager , who put a plan into place and it worked brilliantly .The media dipper wank fest will gather pace , likewise the rags .But if we get result at Juve , then MP will be partly justified in his selection , and remember the defeat to the mourners is just a bump in the road to global domination ....................................................... :!)

Lets hope it hurt the players as much as it did us! 2 things to take from yesterday sergio 60mins under his belt and we didn't lose any ground on our title rivals!

We had bad luck....Mangala putting through his own net and then we played Demichelis who looked like a 35 year old.He can not be starting games against good opponents and neither can Toure. I am not sure that attitude was the problem. We were always going to struggle with that starting line up. You can't play Toure and Demichelis in the spine of the team against a team who play with such high energy

I won't get to see it till after MOTD2 later. Weren't fans saying MDM was our best defender last year. He hasn't turned crap overnight. He played for Munich. Good players have bad days though. It sounds like they all played very badly and didn't play as a team. Sterling has been frustrating me recently with his lack of energy when he hasn't/loses the ball. Navas harries & chases so why can't Raheem. It sounds like Liverpool wanted it more which I struggle to fathom.
Maybe as fans we are not seeing the long term view. Is it possible after Arsenal lost that MP & the team thought right lets get some minutes into a few squad players. Not suggesting City threw the game as they were good enough to win it but there are 6 games in the next 3 weeks. We're not privy to the ins & outs of what goes on. Just seems odd we can take Seville to pieces then fall apart like that. It could have been Sagna & Mangala needed to play to move on from the horror of Paris. Hate losing...roll on Wednesday.

I hope there isn't this sort of over reaction after every poor performance. There'll be a couple more bumps in the road before the end of the season - there always is, even in our title winning seasons - but we're still favourites to win it.
