Liverpool - post match thread.

If no team won on the balance of play then no team deserved to win.

It's the stats that matter that count that is goals.
The goals certainly decide who gets the points, but not who was the better team and I can guarantee that you've considered Liverpool the better team on numerous occasions when you didn't win, and will do so again in the future.

One result has changed our season to hoping for a top 4 finish as opposed to a title win. I think we need Chelsea to start beating the other top teams now, starting with Spurs.

Meh. Boring game and we were shit. Deserved a draw though because they were hardly top opposition either. But when you only have about two good efforts on goal in 90 minutes then what do you expect. Saying that, with our defence and past results again the Dippers away, I have to say I was kinda expecting us to get a good humping tonight.

To be honest I've kinda been losing interest in watching City the last couple of months. I'm no fair-weather supporter because I've been supporting them since I was a little kid in the 70's. But for some reason I'm just not really enjoying watching City the last while, with the exception of the first 5 games and the odd one like Barca and Arsenal when we decided to really play. Dunno what it is because i can't put my finger on it exactly. All this possession sh*t is well and good, but we're not doing anything with it. All the fancy build up and patient play is fine, but it hardly ever comes to much and 95% of the time is snuffed out easily.

Dunno. Sorry lads, I don^t want to put a downer on anything because I truly do love City. But for me Pep has been a massive disappointment and I'm not particularly enjoying watching the football we're dishing up either.

Oh yeah .... and bringing on Nacho in the 88th minute was it ? Really ? Wow. Sorry Pep, I saw we needed that a bit before the 88th minute.

Anyway, happy new year to all of you and your families. Hope it's good one for all of you. Let's hope City get their ideas together in 2017.

Enjoy your night lads. Don't get too pissed. (Yeah, right !).

Thought you lacked a bit today but thought you might have snatched an equalizer when you had a spell in the second half. Difference with Spurs, although we are not as good as you guys, we can bring on someone like Son or a Lamela type off the bench to change things. Plus our full backs have so much energy they give us options going forwards than you guys. It seems years ago I see Zaba getting forwards well. Milner seemed to be forwards as much as he were back today which is a great thing to have

Yeah I thought we would snatch an equalizer too, but we huffed and puffed and seemed to give up towards the end, I would have brought on Nacho with 20 mins to go . Saw Spurs the other night you looked impressive at St Mary's never an easy place to go.
Going to be some battle for the top 4 , let's hope the arse and the scum miss out !

Very poor first half, and a decent second half, but despite us dominating possession of the football, even having more chances, we still lost a game that Milner described as one of their worst performances of the season.

They barely mounted an attack all game, but as per usual we gifted them a goal through poor defending. On the attack Kolarov gives the ball away needlessly, then two easy passes and a cross later we're picking the ball out of the net, without so much as a challenge, is anyone else fed up with watching us defend like that ? Yet if you analyse the defenders individually, its hard to say any of them had a bad game, we're just too soft all over the pitch, our attacking players don't defend, the midfield is a one man band, and he wasn't great today by his standards, and the defence has little confidence in either itself the keeper or those ahead of them, we are making it far too hard for ourselves.

We're occasionally decent at the moment, but its far behind where these players should be consistently performing for me, and the manager has to take some of the blame for the numerous changes of players tactics and formations.

Sad to say if i picked up the Daily Fail tomorrow to read he'd done a Steve Coppell it would not break my heart. I am too old to put up with a 5 year plan, instant reward is what i desire.
5 year plans are just there to appease the masses if things start going pear shaped. The powers that be I doubt ever imagined we would be 10 pts off the top before the bells of new year. Khaldoon himself said as much in his end of season interview "4th is the bare minimum" for us. It hasn't been good so far no matter how some dress it up. If we continue in the same trend we will finish 6th and I wouldn't be remotely surprised if that was the case.

Effectively out of the title race early doors for the third season running. I'd love to know what the hierarchy are thinking

Went to watch winsford twice in the northwest counties league this week.made me realise just how far city and the etihad experience are from the game I fell in love with.
At this moment feel like kicking prem football in the head.if I hadn't got a season ticket wouldn't be bothering on Monday for sure

Momentum is with the chasing pack, we've been dropping like a dead weight for months.
