Liverpool - post match thread.

bluwes, people get paranoid on here when someone says something they don't agree with. Been going to City since 67, season ticket holder since 95 and sold programmes in the 70s. And when I lived on the south coast I travelled to all home games with my son the season they were relegated to third tier.

In that case maybe think twice before you post. Especially tonight, when a lot of people are pissed off, especially with that first half performance.
The Sheikh will not be pulling out, its more than just the club

We have a manger who wasn't keen coming to us. We have wasted a chance to takeover from the rags and chavs as the dominant team. As it stands Pep may not be in charge this time next year. Total *uck and a criminal waste of the sheiks money.
Why did he come here then? Could have gone to any club he wanted to

I spent half the week being advised by footballing geniuses such as @Metalartin and @SWP's back we're better than Chelsea.

We aren't even as good as fucking Liverpool, or Spurs for that matter.

I've posted pretty much the same opinion on here over the last 6-7 weeks - the manager is failing to learn. In this league, if you have aspirations, you just do not:

1. Start slowly and go behind within 10, 20 minutes.

2. Incessantly dick around playing tika-taka in your own penalty box and defensive third.

3. Not win 2nd balls.

4. Fuck about changing the back 4 every game.

5. Slow every counter attacking opportunity down by playing slow sideways / backwards passes.

6. Not put 110% effort and commitment in.

The fact he is failing to learn and prevent these things (he's even actually encouraging points 2, 3 and 4) tells me he either isn't the genius we thought he was or is simply to stubborn and egotistical to accept the approach needs to change. Whichever one it is, it isn't going to wok out for him in this league unless he adapts and does it right now.

but, but, but...he hasn't had 2 or 3 transfer window.....neither has Conte.

I am firmly behind Pep, but those making excuses for him surely see he won't adapt with what he has.

We knew he was coming; he spent 150 million this summer but we still don't have the required players for how he wants to play. Maybe the long term vision will prove worthwhile.

It's going to take time and I think he'll get it right. Currently he's a little too stubborn for what this league requires.

I mean, why the fuck wait till the 85th minute to change things.

The need for new fullbacks is now critical. That alone will probably cost the best part of another 60 plus million.

I don't think so, but people are rightly not happy with some of what is going on.
I couldn't see it first half today, it was disjointed immediately they scored. Individual mistakes will always occur, but we shouldn't lose every time we make them.
I don't think we did restrict Liverpool tonight, we allowed them to score virtually the first time they got in our half, from that moment they knew to sit off and let us play about on the half way line, because we never looked like creating anything. Aguero didn't touch the ball once in 90 minutes in their box, in fact we had very few touches in their penalty area.
Yet he seems to be happy with the performance, now I know what he says to the media won't be what he says to the players, but he shouldn't be saying he was happy with tonight, it simply wasn't good enough, on many aspects.

I think Klopp's post match interview implied that we did restrict them: it didn't sound like his plan was to sit back. We didn't simply allow them to score: their pass, cross and header were excellent but we did concede possession unnecessarily to set them off.

Think she means its a very Raggy comment. No City fan would even contemplate that happening, but you can wank yourself into your Giggsy duvet hoping it will happen
bluwes, your judgment is as bad as Karen's and one or two other paranoid members. I'm a lifelong blue. 'Raggy comment.......' How pathetic can you get. Put yourself in SM's position. Super rich though he is, he's invested hundreds of millions in the team and doesn't quite have the progress he will have hoped for. Hart, Kompany and Zaba were bought for bargain prices before SM came. Silva was a bargain at £24m in SM's time. However, although his investment has delivered a level of success we always dreamed of, if I was SM I would still be disappointed when looking at the bigger picture. When we're not winning the Prem we should be a close second - 100 per cent constant effort.

1) We started well, but conceded a soft goal which was decisive

2) We won most of the challenges. Surely you cannot think we lost because we didn't win the 2nd ball. We had loads of possession

3) The play was slow at times because Liverpool had everyone behind the ball.

4) There was no lack of effort.

We lost a very tight game.

At the moment we're liable to lose such games because our defence is not good enough. I don't think that has anything to with Guardiola. Players like Zabaleta have just had their day, and there's one or two more who are past their best as well

We have spent a fortune and have actually regressed. Aside from the sheik no one at the club is justifying their wages, or hype. We have the worst combination at the helm. Several self serving individuals, who haven't a clue how to create a club which dominates. We aren't Barcelona, we needed to establish ourselves on the pitch, not as some joke brand.
