Liverpool - the city

New Brighton across the water is ok for a visit. It's a short train journey from Lime Street or St.James. The promenade walk gives some good views of Liverpool waterfront. Theres a couple of decent boozers over there and a great Turkish restaurant.

Also on a sunny day, the coastal path from New Brighton to West Kirby is not too far & offers some great views. The bit between Hoylake & West Kirby passes through a nature reserve at Red Rock with is home to a colony of natterjack toads.
Similarly, Formby is gorgeous with a red squirrel reserve, some really nice sand dunes & a great beach walk to Southport, where the size of the beach when the tide is out is massive enough to encounter any other people.

Absolute fucking shithole. As is Manchester City Centre.

Pick somewhere better.

As mentioned in another post, Bold Street bars and restaurants are good. There’s a nice German drinking establishment now. Some good shops too.

Ranelagh Street is lively too. I only really shop in Liverpool and just use it for travel elsewhere. Wirral people are very much not Scousers…
German Drinking Est -where is that?

Albert's Schloss. There’s one in Manchester too.

I was delighted to see Currywurst at Frankfurt Airport on Sunday but they have no vegetarian option. I almost cried.
If you are a Veggie I can only see a Life of endless Pain and Disappointment in Deutschland like this!!

If you’re stopping over then don’t use The Adelphi. It’s an absolute dump.

After looking at property all morning, I went to the Ranelagh Tavern for a pint before I could check in and the locals were on me in seconds. Asked millions of questions but it was good banter.

I was in Wavertree then Anfield before I got my flat in Prenton. I most prefer it here. I’ll eventually head across to North Wales ideally but I’m good here.

Very true. It’s for health reasons but I don’t particularly miss meat.

The weight is staying off and I’m more energetic than usual.

Both the Netherlands and Croatia last weekend catered for me.

Depends what floats your boat really.

I used to work there so had many a good day/night out back in the day. It’s a lively place if you like pubs and getting pissed whilst listening to some oldie blasting out Neil Diamond on a Karaoke at 1pm in he afternoon! If not then stick to the docks end.
