Liverpool Thread 2012/13

There team has potential they looked brilliant against us and United, hammered Norwich and beat a strong West Brom side with a very young team. Sterling, Wisdom, Suso, Sinclair and especially Shelvey look exciting prospects but with only one striker I can't see them challenging for fourth and with another season without CL football I could see some of their big players looking elsewhere.

I agree that they'll lose players without CL.
They look a half decent outfit capable of upping their game for the big matches, but (as they have done for the last few seasons) not able to perform consistently well enough to kill off the lesser teams.

IF they finish top 6 this year, and do so strongly, then they might be able to persuade players that they're moving in a positive direction, but anything less than 6th will no be convincing. Even with 5th or 6th, it might not be enough for some who'll feel they've given Liverpool long enough.

All of that said, Liverpool are still a big enough name to attract other players in, providing they're seen to be on the up.

Unlike City, Liverpool can virtually guarantee a first team place for a top player, which will be a factor to many players, but Liverpool will be shopping in the 'best of the rest' aisle (after the top clubs have had their pickings).

They've certainly got the potential of being a big side, they just need to get a couple more players in which, ultimately, has been delayed because of KK's dreadful signings.

I think they need another CB, FB and ST (possibly two unless Borini improves). This, coupled with Lucas' return (providing he isn't a Darren Anderton mkII) should give them a very decent side.

If you need cheering up after watching the barcodes bend over and lube up for the vermin, RAWK is always good for a guffaw or two!

Look at this gem in there:

No point looking at the table, this is a year of transition.

Imagine that. A full season where there is simply 'no point looking at the table'

Today I heard the first Liverpool fan this season say that next year will be their year. Just after they were held 0-0 at home by Stoke one Mickey told Collymore that this season they were "on a journey" but next year they would be challenginng for top honours.

the dippers need to be more concerned with relegation than champions league places. issstoree isnt going to help the present. another game another game not won. whats that 3, 4 or 5 premier league wins in since 1st january 2012.

Will be funny as fuck when they're relegated and no-one saw it coming :D

They need to put the same energy and passion into playing mediocre teams as they do against us, it's like they have a point to prove or we are the new kids on the block and they will show us there is life in the old dog yet, but play a team like like Stoke and they have no fight, they could lose against all the top 4 and still have a very good season

As much as I laugh at Liverpool current predicament they will have more then enough to survive I'm guessing they will finish in the top ten possible 9th position.
