Liverpool Thread 2012/13

I agree it was a bit expensive but i see him as someone for the future , he is rated by the fans he has played for in the past . ideally , he should have been a 3rd choice striker behind suarez and the carroll replacement who we failed to buy so he's more like forced to play every game whereas he should have been used as a competetion to someone more experienced than him[/quote]

Bit like Andy Carroll was?

how are the dipers to good to go down? one of the poorest teams in the prem in 2012. their squad is worse now than the end of last season.

Except for the fact that they're clearly not, yeah, nailed on.

The fact that they were 8th suggests that there may well have been 12 teams who were worse last season.

this^^^^

last year they were hard to watch during games, even highlights. they are playing way better football this season. each game has imploded for them and they were suckerpunched...they just need to graft out a win and i hope its on sunday afternoon. they are not ready to compete for the title yet, they can have an impact on who wins it !

really this is based on what exactly? look at their form in 2012 in the league. thats 01/01/2012 till now. its relegation form.<br /><br />-- Tue Sep 18, 2012 10:02 pm --<br /><br /><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2012/04/01/dalglishs-liverpool-in-relegation-form-in-2012-as-newcastle-and-sunderland-fly-high-010401/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.sportingintelligence.com/201 ... gh-010401/</a>

Thanks for that mate

I've enjoyed pretty much every football documentary I've seen and I've been looking forward to this but I'm a little disappointed with that, hopefully it's just because it's the first episode and it'll get down to the nitty gritty soon enough. I thought they did a bit too much on the family stuff. Seeing Gerrard and his family was fair enough, then the south americans together was interesting, but did we need a bit on Rodgers' family on top of all that? I was hoping for stuff like the teamtalk at the beginning, what rodgers said to flanagan on the quiet on the training ground and not stuff like them doing training drills to drum and bass music or showing one team winning a penalty competition.

And what was all that sanctimonious shit at the end all about? All this journeys crap, conquering challenges, 'as the sun sets over fenway park so much else is universal', then showing rodgers in slow motion and saying what a great leader he is, all seemed like pretty naff propaganda. I thought rodgers came over well though

Looking forward to the next one, I just hope it's got more nitty gritty in and less wishy washy family crap and cheesy propaganda
