Liverpool Thread 2012/13

Shelvey sent off 38:58, Gerrard scored 45:51, Rafael scored in 51:45, & vp scored in 80:16. All add up to 96. Spooky

They add up to 69 actually haha.

The irony is that if Liverpool played as well as they did today every week, they would likely get in the top 4. Completely outplayed United most of the game even with 10 men.

they have outplayed pretty much any competition this season (and most of last one) except Arsenal and including us but they just don't have good finisher.

You can't win United by just outplaying them, you have to take your chances. Otherwise, they'll score with first shot like they did at WHL last season or will be assisted by ref like today or at SB last season.

Seem to have some top young players coming through in Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Ibe and a 15 year called Sinclair who is already playing for there next gen team. If they stick with Rodgers and let him build there side they could be a real force next season. Apart from Borini there first 11 looks really good its just the squad depth which will let them down this season imo.

Considering the circumstances, i would say they were marginally better than us. Stupid densive mistakes and poor finishing cost them imo.

Liverpool didn't outplay City, although they did play well against us

Becoming a recurring theme for Liverpool fans and if you are feeling frustrated as a CIty fan in throwing two points away against Arsenal, think how Liverpool fans think after outplaying Utd with 10 men and still losing.

The danger for Liverpool is that results start to affect performances. eg they lose a goal and their heads go down

This has been the story for some time now , it is very disheartening to see team wasting so much chances every match . it is depressing to be honest . we also now have kelly off for the whole season and agger out medium term so yesterday couldn't have been worse

My realistic targets for this season is to be in top 10 till january and then buy a couple of strikers and target the 6th place , anything better than 8th will be good

They are a bit like we were at the moment (not financially) - they badly want to compete with the scum but just don't have the tools. We got the money and subsequently the tools to do so, Liverpool have money but haven't spent it well (Carroll, Henderson, Downing) or else they might be closer to truly challenging the scum again in the top 4. Imagine they had spent the £70million or so those three cost on top players added to their good enough core players (Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez). Borini isn't looking that good in his early days either but may come good, Llorente or Soldado are the sort of player they should have gone for though. Allen is a good addition though but just one player.
