Why would they have to pay him more money?

Surely he's playing because of Liverpool's history?

Wonder what clauses are in that contract, on the face of it though it shows a lot of commitment by Liverpool to keep there prized asset and not just grab the cash.

If they stopped buying a bunch of cheaper players and got an established great player or two for their side they'd become a real force.

Hopefully the owners have learnt their lessons with the likes of Aspas & Assaidi - the only cut price players we've bought that hasn't really done anything.

Rumour is that we'll be looking to add to the first team now rather than 'squad players' - I imagine Suarez didn't sign without the promise of better players joining the club over the next 6 months.

Lesson for Spurs here ;-)

I I remember correctly he only signed a new contract Autumn 2012 and we all saw what happened last summer.
Maybe he's signed a new contract to make sure his guarantees with failure to qualify for champions league are written in properly this time.

No city players are even on 200k a week anymore so it's a statement of intent from Liverpool get top 4.. Buy 2 top top players next season and Liverpool will start to become top 4 regularly instead of the rags ;)

The draw for players coming in will also increase in the knowledge they get to play with Luis. I'm over the moon!

Performance based contract, our basic salaries are apparently much lower with any deals negotiated by our current CEO and DoF.

Just a couple of things that could be in that contract.

Nothing has really changed. If LFC are successful Suarez is happy and stays. If not well .......... we'll see !
