I like their style but they are still some way off from challenging.

Naby is a great addition but Can is leaving. They need a DM. They need a back up for their front 3, maybe they see Ox as the answer though, need a top keeper and a CB AT LEAST. Probably LB/RB as well.

Given they have just spent £75m on VVD, clubs will try to rinse them.

Will need to spend £150m minimum if they will bring in 3 players. Coutinho money is now spent so will they make the necessary investment??? IMO unlikely.
They're not that far away. They don't need full backs or forwards and they have enough in midfield. The keeper is the issue, but not sure if he's now going to stick with Karius as Mignolet now making noises about moving on. I actually think they're okay at centre half with VVD, Gomez, Matip, Lovren etc.
It's late in the game that they appear to fall apart, whether he's killing them in training, and fatigue kicks in, who knows.
City, Liverpool and Spurs should be the top 3, with United and Chelsea fighting out the last place. I think Arsenal are happy just getting Europa as Wenger refusing to join the arms race.
They should get past Porto in CL, and we wouldn't want them if we get past Basel. Anfield is not an easy place to win.
Is Klopp now starting to get to grips with it?

no, Liverpool are not that good, look at the table. they look half decent going forward, that's it. midfield is average in the prem, below in Europe, defence is shocking for a, ahem, big club. they are going nowhere. heard this so, so many times before, living in the past ..... sums them up !

Well we're not made of money like some clubs but we will do our best to be competitive. We can improve next season whereas you guys will be hard pushed to improve in the league over what you've achieved this season so far. I suspect that you will be strengthening your squad further in order to maintain your efforts next season. For us its a case of our young defence developing as a unit and cutting out the silly mistakes.

That’s a shame as you used to be made of money & it served you well as you climbed out of the second division to conquering Europe by paying big wages but you knew that didn’t you.
It sounds like you are being mismanaged by your owners & that is something we were familiar with whilst you were at your peak & led to many years without a trophy. Big crowds & loyal fans we had it all but it didn’t stop us going 44 without a title but your only on 28 years so I can see why you feel superior.
The reality is just like near enough every fcking team over the last 130 years the winners have had money so take your head out of your arse cos your not superior you were fortunate to have an investor & your darkest days could be ahead not your brightest.

Pathetic comment.

You spent £75m on a centre back. You are 9th richest football club in the World. And you still think think it is unfair. Fucking hell.

And then your dreadful club still takes her knickers down at every opportunity for the Chinese investors... but you are such an ugly club they just don't want to get involved

Yeah but Liverpool football club do it the "right way" with your glorious history which is in fact the most shameful in all football.

You can always tell when Liverpool have won as Romford red turns up pmsl.

The sheer bitterness oozes through his posts.

Did they win? Stopped paying any attention to what they were doing around the end of October tbh.

Question for some of the old codgers on here.

I've only really been properly into football for the last 27 years or so, so basically a generation.

Did liverpool used to be decent before that?

Not sure if you’re being serious, but I’ll bite.

In the '70s and '80s, under Shankley and Paisley, Liverpool were brilliant.

However, the success and domination, as it has been at all clubs since that period. with the possible exception of Nottingham Forest under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, was built on money, as the Moores family, who owned Liverpool, also owned Littlewood's pools.

The fees might have been smaller than they are today, but the effect was still the same.
