Maybe.

But my brother and a friend I know support Liverpool here in the states.

Goddamn it all - I owe one of them a burrito for betting that City would win out against Liverpool in the CL!

That said - neither condone the minority holligans at Liverpool.

So enlighten me - yes a minory part of the Liverpool fan base are criminals - yes, criminals.

And yes, as I've stated above, Liverpool need to do much more as a club to condemn this.

So.. why is it that I "clearly don't understand Liverpool as a club or a fanbase. So much so, you've completely missed the point of my post."

Because they thrive on misery and excuses pal. They love the "unlucky" more than the actual win.

They appreciate Steven Gerrard as a plucky local lad who was hard done by, never winning the premier league despite him being the greatest ever midfielder in the league in their eyes. Completely ignoring the fact he grew up an Everton fan, handed in a transfer request and only removed it when moving to Chelsea because local thugs threatened him, and he was made look good by various foreign players in the side over the years, from Xabi Alonso, to Dietmar Hammann, to Torres, to Suarez and many more in between. A media trained dirtbag who has actively gotten several managers fired over the years, most recently Rodgers and Hodgson before that. They've picked and chosen facts and mixed them with mythology to make Gerrard out to be something he never was.

They endlessly defend disgusting actions. From racism by one of their players, to bottling opponents buses. It's not just a minority of fans. It's in the clubs DNA. Just watch the former players(all on payroll) endlessly be interviewed to spew the official line.("Suarez wasn't racist", "City's arab money is ruining football" , "Sterling is disgusting and a cancer for wanting to leave Liverpool" and many more)

Their people have an underlying hatred of all things City since we were taken over, and it's pure racism at it's base. It's a classic case of "someone foreign is doing better than us" and the media are more than happy to peddle that line as it fits with their brexit/xenophobistic agenda. Liverpool fans can't even comprehend this and just think it's consensus, when it's just using them to convey a narrative they don't comprehend.

They again, re-write a narrative blissfully ignorant of it attacking themselves. No team spews "City have no histree" line more than Liverpool. The actual fact is they had no history of note until the relatively recent 1970's. So if any club in the premier league has no history, it's Liverpool. "City are a sugar daddies club", when in fact Liverpool benefitted from huge financial doping in the 1970's by the Littlewood's family, who ploughed money into them to make them relevant so the lower classes there would waste money on gambling in Littlewood's Pools. Again, they don't even understand they are the most guilty of the charges they throw out there.

So back to last Sat.

They got what they wanted.

They wanted an excuse.

More than a trophy, this lot feed off the victim narrative. They were robbed. They were hard done by. Karius.

They haven't, for a single second thought that Real would have beaten them with or without Salah. I'm not saying they would have, merely that Liverpool don't care. They have an excuse. Therefore, they are happy.

I'd suggest you go and look into the "history" of that club before defending them, you are showing yourself as unaware of what they truly are. You'll learn plenty from reading this thread going forward and if you truly follow City, you'll see it for yourself going forward as Liverpool's hatred of us is only getting started.

I don't think I've seen a single condemnation of the bus attack from Liverpool fans. Which sums them up.

Watch the video and then do some simple maths. There were about 200 missiles thrown at the bus. Assuming that most people throwing only threw one thing, that's 200 people amongst their fan base that are willing to throw stuff at an opposing team. How many people were there to 'greet' the bus? I'm speculating, but that could easily be about 10% of the people who were close enough to throw something. Now any other club that had 10% of their fans willing to throw things at opposition players would be in a whole heap of shit. And most other fan bases would be willing to condemn behaviour like this, like Chelsea fans did with the racist pricks in Paris. But I genuinely haven't seen any Liverpool fans condemning the bus attack. They think it's hilarious. Of course it might very well be the case that any high-profile Liverpool fan who does speak out is subjected to the sort of mafia treatment that Steven Gerrard got when he wanted to leave. But that's what happens in a cult.

You then also have to look at the way the club reacts to such things. One of the reasons we consider certain Eastern European clubs to be racist scum isn't just because a certain section of their fans racially abuse opposition players, but because the first reaction of the club itself is always to come out and deny it or try and downplay it. Again, compare that to the reaction of Chelsea when their fans were found racially abusing someone in Paris, they came out with a strong statement condemning the actions, and promising to make every effort to identify and ban the fans. Where is the similar statement from Liverpool regarding their hooligans? But this is a club that, when Luis Suarez was accused of racially abusing another player, instead of delivering a measured statement about helping the FA with their investigations and how the player denies the accusations, sanctioned their squad engaging in a PR exercise on the pitch to try and discredit the other player.

All clubs have fans who are dickheads. All clubs have the odd player who makes a mistake. Only one club in English routinely makes excuses for these people, which validates them, and results in scenes like we saw at Anfield where a substantial minority are willing to commit violence, and seemingly a majority of those looking on see no real problem with it. If you want to see how seriously Liverpool takes this kind of thing, ask them how many fans they have banned because of the bus attack.
Not forgetting the actions, or lack of them, of the Merseyside police on the day, either. They just stood there scared sh*t-less while the scousers created absolute carnage & mayhem all around them, and didn’t lift a finger.

Listening to radio Merseyside’s post match phone in last Saturday night,(Which, for those of you who weren’t lucky enough to hear it first hand, may I fully recommend the listen back facility on your bbc i-player radio app.... absolute comedy gold) some fans are already on his case, saying that the only reason Karius got a game was because he was a fellow German Klipperty should therefore be held fully responsible for the whole sorry mess

sadly no longer on line - presume its due to broadcast rights to the CL final - but the whole prog is missing - was looking forward to that lol

Had this one out before and they didn’t reply then. Having the parade arranged isn’t arrogance it’s called planning.

Publishing the route on the council we site, putting up signs saying car parks would be shut prior to winning it is stupid though. Plan yes presume it will happen, but not enough to put out signs and plans as that leaves you open to piss taking.

Plus the signs say 'when we win it' arrogance at best that deserves ridicule

I've been trying to say similar to this for years about our own players and overzealous "fans".
...I do not want a footballer apologising to me for anything that they’ve done on the pitch. Why would you? These apologies are a sop to the emotionally hysterical and those who take it all far too seriously.

Footballers play a sport because they are gifted (even the ones we think are crap). Fans aren't gifted so we've constructed a different aspect to sport in order to enjoy it from the sidelines or afar. It's real in the sense that we have real emotions and it can be a force for good in the sense that we are a uniting community. But at the end of the day we are hangers on and little more than teenage girls obsessed with a pop idol.

We are not entitled to be abusive to any player who supposedly doesn't show us enough respect (e.g. Yaya in the past) or is not playing great (e.g. Sterling in the past) or makes mistakes that hurt us (e.g. Bravo in the past). We are entitled to voice our opinions but it needs to stay constructive. Otherwise we just look foolish imo.

IMO people have to remember that we should be eternally grateful to the players for giving us something to care about in life. All of them.

I take it they didn't have a parade. Shame really, they could of paraded an invisible cup as frenetic as any avid air guitarist.
