But clear offside goals, players diving for penalty’s and officials guessing on decisions is seen as ruining the game and it’s got so farcical that Refs need technological help.

They should be trained better, anything to make them do the job better I certainly wouldn’t be bringing in a piece of technology that they have no idea how to use . Stop start, the time it takes , the euphoria of a goal scored will be gone forever, it’ll kill stone dead the rythem & pulse of the game .......oh & by the way they’ll still give the decisions to certain teams .

It looked like a red to me and it looked like a red to the ref. The VAR reviewer is from Manchester and has never been allowed to ref a game involving a Manchester team, yet here he is overruling the ref on a red card to a utd player. I wouldn't have a problem if he would have said to the ref, "you might want to look at that again", but there's no way somebody that hasn't been approved to ref the game should be allowed to make a refereeing decision. And it can't be the correct verdict as it's an interpretation, unlike the offside calls. What happens if the ref afterwards looks at it and says, "I was right, it was a red"?

He didn’t throw nothing in his own net though! He knocked a miscued shot from Van Dijk (which looked like it was going out of play) onto the bar, the ball came off the bar and Origi pounced and put it over the line.

In that case I agree with you and I know there’s going to many types of these incidents next season in its first full season - however you just have to hope eventually they will reduce, it becomes more transparent and it will make the game fairer.

My word. Is he honestly saying Pickford tipped the ball purposely on to the bar for Liverpool to score in the dying seconds ?!
Surely would have been easier to let one of the many shots in during the game. Heard it all now.

All I know is Pickford did not throw the ball into his own net. I’m not sure why folk remember it that way because that isn’t what happened. Nothing suspicious about it considering Pickford constantly has brain farts.

It was sheer incompetence from Pickford that, nothing more.

That decision was disgusting & just adds another tool to the armoury of people who want to decide the outcome of games.
