That win against Everton showed once again that work rate is at the basis of Liverpool's success.

Everton have probably a mental block but Liverpool pressed and ran much more than them which was key. Liverpool are first and foremost about exceptional fitness levels. Easily the fittest team/players in the world. This is what distinguishes them form other top teams, i.e. Barca, Madrid, us...

Everton were probably tired from the crazy Chriistmas schedule but that's a pure excuse for their performance in the 2nd half. They couldn't exchange 3-4 passes and hold on the ball. It was all about long balls upfront. Very poor.
Easist the fittest players in the world? give over

Unfortunately, that's the truth Karen. It's backed up by stats. Two years in a row they are making most sprints in England and rotate less than us. I have doubts about their ability to work so hard and stay fit but there is no direct evidence they are using illegal methods. I prefer our style much more than their which is often boring. Their performance in the CL final was dull. But they are fucking fit.

Did they break any records today ? The first 11 year old to play in the FA Cup ? The first team to have a player with 3 L's and 3 A's in his name (Lallana) the most over the top commentary by a BBC bloke ever ?

Yes a fantastic performance by them this evening. When I saw the teamsheets I fully expected Everton to win but as the game wore on Liverpool got stronger and stronger.

They seem to have a lot of things right off the pitch also. Medically they seem to suffer fewer injuries to key players and recruitment wise they seem to be spotting talent and finalising deals before other competitors. Case in point Harvey Elliott looks to have a lot of potential and the lad from Salzburg, with his experience, looks a snip at the fee.

We will have to raise our game going forward as this looks like a challenge which will not be going away any time soon.

They get by and find a away so the spirit is admirable but premier leagues best ever side? Nah nowhere near... they aren’t even close to being as good as they were last season imo.

Totally, agree, this year has been more about hard work...and yes some luck...but I reckon it also has something to do with not being pushed as much (YET!)
Last year the quality was better as was certainly the case with City and I think the two teams responded to each other knowing they had to keep performing. It's fairly obvious that City have been playing that quality football for the last few years so it is clear that year is something of a blip.
Just hope we break the 30yr streak and maybe next year can be another quality Prem season with both Liverpool and City playing beautiful football spurring each other on.

Beautiful football is what we all want, but there is also a place for seeing a good dogfight.... I was at The Den and watched Peter Reid and Terry Hurlock kicking lumps out of each other all day. Worth being there just to see them at it
