Yet if you were ever to go on to RAWK, or speak to a Littlewoods fan, the City coach attack was a minor incident, there is no mention of the hacking scandal, there is no mention of Littlewoods failing FFP if they would have been in Europe, there is no mention of Liverpool having the highest player wages, there is no mention of Liverpool spending the most transfer money over the last two seasons, there is no mention of Standard Chartered, Lttlewoods shirt sponsor, and their dubious practices, there is no mention of the Qatar, who are hosting the World Club Championship, at their dreadful human rights record, the list goes on.

It’s a stew that fishermen used to take around ports of the Baltic Sea, it’s got nowt to do with Liverpool.

Labs kausis means a "good plate" in Latvian, and in Lithuania they use labas káuszas for a "good plate". In other places: Norway (lapskaus), Sweden (lapskojs), Denmark (skipperlabskovs meaning "skipper's lobscouse") and northern Germany (labskaus) all mean the same thing, the name of the stew.

All much older words for the stew they’re describing than how it’s been related to the city of Liverpool and their demonym of Scouse.

In Stoke it’s known as Lobby, or a Staffordshire Beef Lobby.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also speaking to the media now and was asked about Jurgen Klopp's earlier comments that there are too many games for top-flight players.

"I agree," he said. "If we have bigger squads, how do we pay them? We need less fixtures, less competitions, more recovery.

"But I have been in meetings and it's always the same. We just talk about it.

I think you've missed the point. I don't think anyone is saying that everybody should play twice a week for ever more and Klopp should dancing a jig. What people are saying is a) it's the price of being "successful", b) every team has lots of fixtures in Dec/Jan, c) we had a similar situation a few seasons ago and there was no sympathy for us, d) threatening to not play the game is pathetic - they pretty much played the kids in the last round, why can't they play the same kids in the next round?
