Chelsea fired Lampard though. And Gerrard is a different breed.

And Benitez managed a team he'd previously slagged off and helped drag us into the relegation zone. It does make me wonder.
Gerrard only lost 1-0 away from home and were competitive against that lot despite the strong connection. I don't see him capitulating in front of Villa fans either. As for Benitez it was a completely stupid move from your owner to appoint him in the first place and he has probably made himself unemployable because of the complete hash he had made.

Tonight has shown the difference in fan bases.

The cult are certain the quadruple is coming. A lot of blues here think it's coming rather than having the confidence that we have the best players in Europe to stop the cunts.

We don't feel that were "owed" success but will graciously accept it when it comes whilst they expect it.

To finish it should say “we are fucked”

I’d have gone on to stress that we are routinely fucked over as far as decisions go
No. The season is more to do with poor defending at key moments and wasteful shooting on most occasions. Still in the frame though and can fill the cabinet up further.

Right everyone, the stage is almost set. It looks like we’re going to be the only team to stop them if we make it through tomorrow’s semi final (fingers crossed), but even if we don’t, the league is massive this year.

Over the last decade or so we’ve had some absolutely huge challenges and difficult rivalries and we’ve always ended up on top. Thinking back to our Top 4 fights with Spurs, the first FA Cup win, the Tevez signing, toppling Fergie’s United, QPR, the Centurions, the Gerrard slip, winning a ridiculous number of games in a row to beat the scousers by one point, the domestic treble. All of these moments make you feel blessed to be a city fan. We have so many iconic, almost scripted moments as a club.

So I see this as an opportunity really. Let’s get through tomorrow’s semi final so we have the chance to make another memory. I mean, the Aguero winner was so euphoric it made me question if I could ever get that level of joy again from football (not to say I wouldn’t massively enjoy our football, more that it was such a unique moment it couldn’t be eclipsed). Reminds me of what I thought winning the league would feel like - “ok now what?” But the truth is, there’s always something you can aim for. And if we somehow pulled this off and beat the scousers to the bragging rights (hopefully on both fronts), that would be potentially the finest moment in my supporting of this club.

It can be hard to enjoy when you’re in the race. And I imagine tomorrow will be extremely nervy, but let’s try to enjoy it whilst we’re still in it, take things a step at a time, and not get disheartened by a bunch of scousers. Whatever happens, we’ve got next season and we’ll come out on top in this rivalry in the end, just like we eventually did with Spurs, United and Brendan’s Liverpool side.

The easiest route to the final in history is being recognised on socials and their stock response is "we had the group of death la" group of death being an out of sorts atletico side who didn't have to fight dirty at that stage, a shit AC Milan side that's not seen champions league football for a long time, and a mediocre at best Porto side. The fact they were second seeds means they were always going to have somebody decent in the group, who the fuck is thinking Liverpool may get beaten to the top 2 in that by Porto or AC Milan? Not a single soul.

City had PSG as a second seed, a third seed in RB Leipzig that's one step away from reaching the europa league, they've already proven they're actually the best third seeds from this seasons competition as they've gone the furthest and then an admittedly shit Brugge. Top seeds and yet a harder group but no claims of a group of death from us. We then had walkover in sporting before facing liverpools toughest game in this scary group of death they navigated in the quarters whilst they faced somebody marginally less shit than sporting. Semi finals they get the rank outsiders punching well above their weight and we get the newly crowned Spanish champions and record winners. If Madrid were to beat us tomorrow they've had psg, current holders in Chelsea and tournament favourites in us en route. Both us and Madrid have had about as tough a run as you can expect, Liverpool have had a completely free pass. Even trying to deny it is typical cultist behaviour

The notion that they are "going for the quadruple" is a complete misnomer. It implies that if you win your key matches you will win the lot. That was the case both last year and in 2018/19 when we were in with a shout.

That's patently not the case with them. They can win every fucking remaining match but still not win the quadruple. They are wholly dependent on us failing to win one of our remaining four league games.

I thought I had heard it all on rawk... then this ...

Benzema please knock this nothing club out of this esteemed competition they have no right to be in.
There is nothing sweeter than City knocking Liverpool out in the CL final. It will trump 2018-19 season.

It's so irritating. We had to be completely on it for 90 minutes, and even then we go to Madrid with a slender 1 goal lead (for the second round in a row). They can get away with about one half of decent football over the two legs and they get through comfortably.

If it's any comfort, the Liverpool fans I know are shitting themselves about the prospect of facing us in the final. I don't know anyone who doesn't want Madrid.
