Wonderful morning.
Despite some of the media running stories about “Best ever CL come backs” the firework display turned into a tea light.
Anyone know what the Budweiser sponsored “Official Excuse” is yet ?
Yes, the bbc article on European comebacks was a Liverpool/united fawning job.

It would be nice if Pellers does them over

You know you haven’t got a midfield when you take off Milner and bring on Chamberlin.

First time in 9 years? Fair play to their owners.
Except that's not quite the whole picture. The last time they tried to raise prices the permanently offended staged a mass walk out and no price increase happened. They have been to frightened to do it since.
How can you sell your club or get investors if one revenue stream is so far behind every other club ?

They need to bring some revenue in, their profit before tax for the last accounts was £7.5 million. The players they’ve put on the books over the last 12 months and a potential drop in revenue with no Champions league football could potentially have them posting losses in the future. That won’t be attractive to any future buyers and investors if Fenway Sport are finding the going a little bit tough at the moment.

Owen's comments on the dippers future last night demonstrate what a deluded fan he is. Still peddling the myth about having enough players about to peak by adding just a couple more they will be great again. He continues to talk about having the best players around in key positions. I hope the dippers management believe that.
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen does not think it is all doom and gloom, however.

"Liverpool's strength is that group of players who have been to the trenches and won together. That takes years of building. Why is everyone talking about a refresh?" Owen said, speaking on BT Sport.

"I think Liverpool have got enough. Looking through their starting XI, there's nobody out there better than their goalkeeper. Their right-back is unbelievable, the left-back too, Virgil van Dijk is probably the best in the world when he is on form. Ibrahima Konate is brilliant.

"The front five are brilliant. Darwin Nunez was the hottest striker around last year. Cody Gakpo was one of the stars of the World Cup.

"When they bought Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino they weren't £100m players, they weren't the best in the world at the time. Nunez could be anything, he could be one of the best in the world in five years."

Dunno why the rest of us bother, they are the greatest bestest most brilliant group of players ever !!

Another reason why I don’t understand them getting bellingham that’s a massive chunk of their budget gone, plus they will be putting so much pressure on a 19 year old kid to change their midfield by himself. I think they need at least 2-3 midfielders plus a right back as Trent should be moved into midfield he can’t defend at all and that’s a liability at the stages Liverpool want to be at.

Yet, they were good enough to smash the scum, who stand in 3rd in the Prem. VVD, Fabinho, Hendo, Thiago, Keita, Milner and - dare I say it - Salah either well in decline or looking past their best. Ox-Chambo has been in decline for ages. Of the 2 feared full backs, Robertson's 29 and Trent's been well and truly found out in the last season or 2. Matip can't play more than 3 games running - ever. Gomez? Frequently a liability. Darwen Nunez? If only we'd signed him instead of bloody Haaland.
They went out with barely a whimper last night.
Quite looking forward to playing them again!
