BBC breakfast have just highlighted the fact that the dipper fans booed the National Anthem and showed Henderson singing the words . When did the BBC grow some balls ?

You, and others turning this into a republican argument, are completely missing the point. Many are using this to spout their own long held anti monarchist views (or pro monarchy, whatever).

It isn't about that, it isn't about you or me or the king, or our taxes. It isn't about Thatcher, or Nort Korea either, or snowflakery, freedom of speech or the righ to protest.


It is about the fact that, simply fucking put, Liverpool fans were totally disrespectful to their own national anthem on the one day on which that makes them look like twats. Because they are selfish and self centered, and not one day can go by when it isn't about them.

I don't care what your views are, on the UK, the Monarchy, the Sun, the Guardian, the right, the left or whatever.

Booing a national anthem on a historic national day is disrespectful, there is no arguing that.

And no it is no different to booing Hillsborough or Munich memorial days, or any cause parade, on the day they are held, because your view differs 364 other days.

we boo the champs league anthem because its representative of UEFA a body we despise. Sorry but booing the anthem because you have the South of the country makes no sense at all. Are they of the opinion that the Royal Family failed to investigate Hillsborough? I am old enough to remember when in Manchester we were angry that "the South" in the form of Hesteltine post riots when we felt ignored. We didn't boo the anthem. I can understand the annoyance but I just don't get how the "fix" is to boo the National Anthem. Just ignore it - turn your backs if you must and try and be more creative about how a direct display of displeasure can be done.

How would your husband feel if every group of away fans made such a noise they drowned out YNWA?

It's bollocks. People equating booing the national anthem with booing UEFA's ditty are out of their tiny minds. Just another stupid attempt to justify childish, moronic, disrespectful and, above all, hugely hypocritical, behaviour.

They don't agree with what? Marking respect for people's death is a very different thing to sticking an expensive crown on a very rich man and telling the whole country to enjoy it.

What you're suggesting is that people shouldn't have the right to protest, that's bizarre imo.

Respect is respect. It is not relevant to the cause, or your views, that is pretty much the entire point of it.

'due regard for the feelings, wishes, or rights of others'.

It is exactly the same thing, as an act, (as booing Hillsborough on its memorial day), the only difference is you agree with one and not the other. But it isn't about you, or them. That's pretty much how showing respect works.

And Liverpool fans failed at it yesterday, nothing changes that.

I know I said I’d not reappear until next season but Liverpool’s fans’ behaviour today in booing the national anthem on Coronation Day has my blood boiling. I fucking hate Liverpool and their fans. Signing off now until August. Summer well City fans.

Saw that bollocks earlier.....a protest against the establishment.........its unbelievable just how unlucky and victimised the Tramps have been over the decades,almost as though some it cant possibly be true.....
