Not read the 2000 pages on this and not about to on a Sunday morning. Am not a monarchist or anti monarchist am probably one of the majority who are largely ambivalent to the monarchy. I do believe in freedom of speech and the right to protest so am torn between condemning the scousers for their lack of respect to a national occasion and defending their right to voice their opinion. It could have been done differently, maintaining a silence and followed by a statement from the fan group Condemning the idea of a monarchy if that’s how they feel. However, quite rightly those with strong feelings against the way the scousers booed are perfectly entitled to condemn them for doing it. I must admit in my head I have settled on the booing to be less about the constitutional set up in this country and more down to scousers wanting attention and they generally do this by either behaving appallingly or claiming victim status.
