You do know most of us live in the north west of England where two school girls were murdered by the IRA?
Boys.

Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball.

Back when I did my degree at Warrington Campus about twenty years ago, I was involved in organising a rugby league tournament at Crosfields RLFC. We raised money and the proceeds went to the Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball Peace Centre which is next door.

My heart bleeds for them.

And I know a lot of Scousers are of Irish descent but I don't recall Everton fans taking Irish flags to the game, except maybe the odd Irish fan group. Our captain is an Irishman too.
Everton didn’t feel the need to boo the queens minutes silence, did they?

We have the odd Irish flags at City, usually with “City” written on them, I’ve heard Irish accents at City too and it’s not a problem whatsoever, in fact they’re blues and it’s their club as well.

We’re all just there for City and being a City fan is the only thing associated with going every week.

We don’t want sectarianism at our club, we don’t care if people have different backgrounds to us. if you’re coming to City with an interest in City then you’re welcome whoever you are.

It’s what I like about City, there is absolutely nothing political about us. You can be Tory, Labour, Green, SNP, even Sinn Fein…. Doesn’t matter as long as you don’t support sectarianism and don’t support bringing it to City. There’s probably been England flags with “MCFC” written across them and then an Ireland flag with the same message hanging yards away at City games before.

Liverpool fans brought Irish flags and sang sectarian songs at Rangers and sang about the Queen being in a box, as if they were Celtic to specifically be political.

That is totally different than bringing Irish flags just because you’re proud of being Irish and want to advertise Dublin Blues or whatever… which is perfectly fine.

Sorry my mistake, becoming senile in my old age.

Well done for raising the money.

They’re pally with rangers and both support each other but there’s barely any politics at Chelsea these days, you don’t hear sectarian chanting and there’s not a political clash with other clubs.

It’s nothing like Scotland but the scousers are trying to make it like that.
I was in Amsterdam when Chelsea played Benfica in the Europa League final a few years back and there was a lot of Linfield fans also supporting Chelsea. I'd say amongst their older fans they still have a Protestant / Right wing bias

Probably still there but it’s nowhere near Scotland.

I really hope it doesn’t creep in down here.
