I would agree. I find a night out in Liverpool friendlier than Manchester, even as a Mancunian. Manchester is a very tough city and I don’t think Mancunians generally give a shit what outsiders think about us, whereas I think Scousers want to be liked a bit more than us as they’re a bit more emotional.

I find Scousers generally sound, find them a good laugh when at gigs, went out with a Scouse girl for about 18 months once and she was lovely from a nice family, worked with some sound Scousers over the years.

You have to remember that Scousers and LFC are not one and the same. It’s not Scousers<+>LFC, it’s more that most Liverpool fans aren’t even Scouse. A lot like the glory hunting sad act Rags from all over the British Isles, who are the ones who are more of a bore and a bit weird with it; Liverpool fans from all over the British Isles are the same.

I don’t mind local fans of their local clubs who just have pride in where they come from and support the team their city/town that represents them, it’s the sad bastards who attach themselves to Liverpool and United even if they have absolutely no connection to Liverpool or Manchester and only do so to get some reflected glory in their lives who are the worst.

Not that there aren’t absolute cunts from Liverpool and Manchester who support Liverpool and United!

I know a few Rags who admit to hating the glory hunting out of town contingent to their support (although less-so Irish United fans, it’s more the Southerners they have a problem with). There have been fights between Mancunian Rags and out of town Rags before. It got to point where MUST demanded of their club that the club stop dishing out large chunks of their away allocations to tourists because they were sick of nobodies in their away ends (I wish a fan group in the City support would demand the same of City!)… I don’t know if that’s the same with Liverpool’s local fans and their attitude to out of towners, maybe not because they probably just want everyone to like them.
Social media has made it worse - these Liverpool facebook pages...... all the comments from people in continents outside of Europe (never mind England) all ending their comments with "YNWA" or "In Klopp we trust", and talking absolute bollocks about a club theyve never seen live. It's these pricks that are deluded. As said elsewhere, the genuine Scousers that we know from work or Uni or via a friend are decent folk but these out of town tossers (like their rag counterparts) feel the need to have to "hate" their rivals to show or to prove to local fans how much a fan they really are. A bit like the scene in The Life of Brian, where Brian wants to join the Judean Popular Front (or is it the Popular Front of Judea?) And John Cleese asks him "how much do you hate the Roman's?"

I get the rivalry between Manchester and Liverpool from folk who live in both cities,, but when you see someone from another continent being a Liverpool fan saying "I hate Manchester United" it's utter bollocks. This "I support this team therefore I must hate that team" is shite especially when you live 8,000 miles way.... it just fuels the situation....so much hate on football forums.

Generally people don't like what the club do to put their own fans right, booing the Queen and claiming not to be English, they form a siege mentality and then complain about other fans when they get pulled up about it.

I'd say most people haven't got anything against scousers per say but they don't make it easy for other fans to like them because they go out of their way to be obnoxious. Now that they have got a manager that truly reflects their backward view of the world they have got worse and if they are not pulled back from the precipice then another tragedy will happen involving them IMO.

Think alot of "local" fans in England need a bit of a reality check. You can court foreign ownership, overseas tv deals and teams with mainly foreigners and moan if your team attracts fans from all over the globe. If you want this go support a lower league or non league team if not shut up moaning and quit this nonsense local fans superiority complex.
These tend to be your online bellends. Looking forward to the day some magician makes an app where you can send a punch through the internet. I'll watch adds all day if I can use it for 1 second.

I wouldnt like City to get like that, the City family is now worldwide.

Us City fans not living in Manchester properly will start getting more stick for being glory hunters. My lads get and the oldest is 25.
Until the cost of living increases we would do around 15 matches a season home and away. His great grandad, grandad and me ( his dad lol ) all born in Manchester all City. Yet to some he is a glory hunter lol. My lad puts them straight !

Years ago it felt like I was the only southern voice at Maine Road lol. But I have since met are really nice cockney who is more blue than me. Has followed City all over the land and Europe from the 3rd division upwards. He had pride of place for the villa game last season sat behind the city bench in the tunnel club for his birthday.

Even before City were this good we had fans from all over the place.
True this - I knew a lad in the seventies from Windsor who had eleven forenames - all the City squad at the time

His dad was from a long line of London firemen - no connection at all with Manchester

12 years ago. ;-)

The petition is linked, but sadly it doesn’t exist anymore via the link.

Supporters have added over 10,000 signatures to an online petition directed at owners Fenway Sports Group - led by John Henry and Tom Werner - calling for Hodgson to be removed immediately.

The accompanying letter, which runs to almost 3,000 words, lists the reasons why they want the former Fulham boss to be booted out.

The letter is divided into sections highlighting Hodgson's perceived weaknesses, headlined 'Inexperience at the top level', 'Relationship with the fans/Communication with the media', 'Signings' and 'Statistics' before concluding with a final 'Please Act Now' plea.

It starts: 'The undersigned plead with you to relieve our great club’s current manager, Mr Hodgson, of his duties immediately.

'Upon purchase of the club, a key promise you made was to engage with and listen to the fans – we very much hope this was with a view to acting on issues we feel tremendously strongly about.

'Indeed all have been impressed with your approach to managing the club and handling of the media to date, however now is the time to take swift and decisive action in respect of a matter vital to our progression.

'This is not simply an unconsidered reaction following the loss to Wolves yesterday evening, though this was clearly an unacceptable result, but a culmination of events over the past six months.

'Liverpool fans are widely regarded as knowledgeable and, crucially, extremely patient, and so the fact recent polls show that in excess of 95% wish to see Mr Hodgson removed from his position is evidence enough that it is time to fulfil your promise. Can a majority this overwhelming be ignored and, more importantly, all incorrect in their views?'
Well as Woy said, you will never walk awone.
