How many players score 28/30 goals in a season in the Premier league?

He's very fast, strong, and carves out an incredible amount of chances. He appears to have poor technique, but then he does hit shots very early, which would be an advantage if he got them anywhere near the target. Looking at his finishing at Benfica, it's difficult to say whether his technique isn't good enough (clearly it's lacking compared to a lot of other PL players), or if he's a few % off, and snatching at chances because of confidence.

It wouldn't surprise me if he had a run similar to the one he's on right now, where shots started going in.

Nunez has shown no evidence to date of getting anywhere near that. When Diaz, Gakpo and Jotta are available, he won't even be 1st choice - and none of them will score 28 in a season either - only exceptional strikers can get near that figure, as the record books show.

I didn't mention the Premier League. Just pointing out that he's had a poor run of games, but is still scoring at a goal every 144 minutes. If he played as much as Salah did last season he'd get 28 in all comps - Salah got 31. Prior to the World Cup he was on 9 goals in about 900 minutes, which is impressive.

When he was at Benfica he was outscoring his xG quite heavily, which I can't fathom at all, as he looks like the opposite kind of player (someone who creates a LOT of chances, but isn't a top notch finisher). It makes me wonder if he's an instinctive finisher who needs confidence. He might lose all confidence, and tail off, but it also wouldn't surprise me if he had a hot streak sometime soon.

Yeah, whatever issues our team has at the moment are different to Liverpool's.
 
Over the Xmas period I spoke to a distant relative (wife's step brother) who is a dipper and the whinge he is pushing is that we over-pay wages and so they cannot compete for the likes of Haaland. He was so far down the rabbit hole of dipper reality that I did not bother arguing. It was funny when he said he hoped for a rich sugar daddy to take them over even if it was a state - obviously scouse washing can make even filthy oil money ok!

I didnt see any Brentford player push anyone into the hoarding, scissor tackle, rake anyone’s Achilles or any other such shithouse tactics employed by the dippers and allowed by the complicit refs ..!
