:)

People who agree with you are sane and people who don't agree with you presumably aren't? Not sure there is much point discussing respect with someone who has that basic principle.

Anyway, just for the record, I am not a monarchist, particularly, but I try to be a decent human being. Not much of a thing these days, but I am old .....
You also don't presumably put yourself first at every opportunity either. You don't think "I've just got to get my feelings out there even if it offends people around me because it's about ME, ME, ME". Decent people who oppose monarchy keep a dignified silence because they consider the thoughts of those around them. Emotionally incontinent spoilt narcissists have to get their feelings out there because it is their right. Ok, that's fine. But don't come crying to me when visiting fans disrespect minute's silence for the passing of an ex-City player. Freedom of speech works both ways - you have the right to offend others by booing the national anthem, I have the right to call you a fucking wanker for making it about you and disrespecting others.

EDIT: When I say 'you', I don't mean 'you' personally. I agree with everything you said :)

Well said. Live and let live,

Henderson on bench sang it,Arnold didn’t,says a lot,the FA shouldn’t let Southgate pick him for England duty, mind you he won’t get picked anyway as he’s shit, but it’s poor from him that, but then again we all expected what happened there yesterday
Disagree with that. It’s personal choice whether to sing it or not. England football shouldn’t use GTSK as the national anthem anyway. It should be a song about the country not the royal family. Other sports use different songs and football should do the same. Pick a song that everyone can get behind not just half.

Having said that GTSK on the day of the coronation was appropriate and gave those that support the king the chance to show their support and the rest the opportunity to have a bit longer in the bar.

Wrong. Hibs fans held banners dissenting the whole event. Motherwell and Kilmarnock fans joined in "shove your coronation up your arse". Not just dipperland at all, I'm dismayed that so many people in other places didn't feel brave enough to voice dissent about it when they had the chance. People doing what they're told in fear of being piled on for not obeying their masters.
People in fear? Obeying masters?
You see things others don't obvs.

Everyone's just been enjoying being British.

If you don't like it do not do it. But implying others are wrong to celebrate, not wanting others to have the fun... it is shite

As someone who lives down saff, it was only London Thatcher cared about. I
Our seaside town became a ghost town than the torys did dole by the sea. We had a huge influx of scousers which coincided with an influx in crime. Funny that.

Now again there seems to be an influx of scousers moving in again. I hear more and more scouse accents. Plus out of the group of about 10 piss heads who hang around the town every day. You know the sort. Pissed by 7am sitting on benches, normally end up fighting among themselves. 3 of these can afford to dress in LFC merchandise.
Of all the clubs these southerns could have chosen to support, oddly they chose the one that suits them best !
I looked at the decline of the North in the 80s as a positive and have never regretted moving away at all. Unlike Manchester where I believe the city and it's people moved on, a lot of scousers languish in this anger ridden sentimentality which only reinforces the victims mentality. If you challenge them on it they accuse you of being a plastic scouser/ woolyback etc.
I lived in Westgate on Sea for a few years and parts of Thanet could certainly give areas of the north a run for their money. Most seaside towns are impoverished for many reasons, Brighton in the 80s was a good example and look at it now. Here in Bournemouth a lot of the crime in the 80s and 90s was usually involving scousers.
