The problems with TAA is he's world class at about 2 things and shite at everything else. The only reason he's a right back is because it's the only position where he gets the time and space to do what he wants. And that's only necessary because he's shite at holding up the ball and close control, so if he plays in midfield, he gets pressured easily and loses the ball. He's not world class at passing, he's world class at one or two particular types of pass. Whereas KDB has the full range.

Interesting that at the covid enquiry yesterday the mayor of Liverpool explained that when he put the Merseyside area into lockdown when other parts of the country weren’t he received death threats and had to employ security to protect him. 100% correct. I said the exact same thing about his passing "ability" yesterday to a mate. He can hit a very good long cross-field pass, he can sometimes send a decent cross in, AND he's very good at corners and free-kicks.

He's a right-winger, but he can't really consistently beat a man with either skill or pace and his lack of any proper ability to control a ball means that he loses possession too frequently, so he can't play on the wing; so he's dropped back to right-back, but he has no real defensive positional sense and gets beaten far too often as a result of it. So they try to copy the "Jones Stones Role", but he's just not able to read the game well enough to play it and is invisible for the majority of the game in that position.

The media who gave him MotM on Saturday, because he scored a goal, fail to mention that it was his fucking child-like defending that was responsible for opening the door for our goal. 100% on him (and Haaland :) that we scored.

100% correct. I said the exact same thing about his passing "ability" yesterday to a mate. He can hit a very good long cross-field pass, he can sometimes send a decent cross in, AND he's very good at corners and free-kicks.

I feel like he would have done really well in the David Beckham era. More right midfielders crossing it for two strikers rather than the tricky winger beating a man and contributing 20 goals a season.
