What a load of bollocks. He took his goal very well, but I think the more valid statement would have been "Kevin De Bruyne, who is injured and unavailable, would have done a better job as a right back".

The problems with TAA is he's world class at about 2 things and shite at everything else. The only reason he's a right back is because it's the only position where he gets the time and space to do what he wants. And that's only necessary because he's shite at holding up the ball and close control, so if he plays in midfield, he gets pressured easily and loses the ball. He's not world class at passing, he's world class at one or two particular types of pass. Whereas KDB has the full range.

I've seen Kevin De Bruyne play quite a few times and whilst TAA took his goal well, and undoubtedly has a great passing technique, I also watched him do absolutely fuck all in the middle of the park when playing for England against Malta and North Macedonia. So I know who I'd rather have.
